dd1 (4yo) callls them farties - think she got that from dh.

Scoobydooooo · 23/08/2006 07:14

Trump most of the time but ds thinks its more funny if he says Fart.....

adath · 23/08/2006 12:08

Pumps in this house.
And DD tells you loudly wherever and whenever.
I just do not like the word ahem fart
no idea why but ai cannot bring myself to say it out loud at all.
And I am no prude I can come away with choice language at other drivers like the best of them.

PrettyCandles · 23/08/2006 12:11

Parps.

At 2yo, ds announced to my dh on his return from work "Mummy has to change her knickers because she did parps in them."

No privacy!

MrsCapedCrusader · 23/08/2006 12:12

Ffluffs, however ds1 (5), thinks guffs is the funniest word in the universe.

clairemow · 23/08/2006 12:12

We call them pops as well - and they are either bigpops or littlepops according to DS, who then very cutely says "Pardon me", while guffawing behind his hand!

Sugarpop · 23/08/2006 12:13

I always used pumps until ex grandma in law who's generally prudish introduced them to farts! They don't call them anything else now!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 23/08/2006 12:15

We call them 'toots'. It's amazing how quickly they think they are funny. DS is only 11 mo and he always giggles!

NattyandThomas · 23/08/2006 12:27

fart or blow off.. depends on if you are asking in front of relatives

sdjones2 · 23/08/2006 12:36

Niall's!

Given that he is 10 months old, and cannot speak to defend himself he gets the blams a lot of the time

Usually our 3.5 yr old administers responsibility for farting thereafter .

mrsnoah · 23/08/2006 22:53

a poop !

hunkermunker · 23/08/2006 23:03

Pop...thank goodness when DS1 announces his in the middle of restaurants... Small child shouting "pop" gleefully is slightly more socially acceptable than the same child shouting "fart" I think

mosschops30 · 23/08/2006 23:04

fluffs or trumpets

Misspiggy · 23/08/2006 23:05

A fluff or trump.

moondog · 23/08/2006 23:05

Farts
(Or rather Welsh equivalent)

I hate euphemisms.
My Staffordshire grandmother was always going on about 'busy' (shit) and 'trumps'.Even at 5 I knew it was very wrong.

hunkermunker · 23/08/2006 23:06

You'd rather have the fart-shouting child, MD?

Misspiggy · 23/08/2006 23:06

Spooky Mosschops! V similar cross posts!

fullmoonfiend · 23/08/2006 23:07

botty burps (cringe) or if dh lets one off it's a love-puff
Of course, for all this coyness, as soon as they start school, they FART!!

moondog · 23/08/2006 23:12

Why not HM?
No time for coyness chez Moondog.

I even forcemyself to say 'vagina' (although I hate it)

Beauregard · 23/08/2006 23:14

Farts and occasionally i use the name ponk (from when i was small)

Ahem "speak up brown"

octavia · 23/08/2006 23:53

farts or perps in our house

Adorabelle · 24/08/2006 00:03

We call it a Pump, & I do make her say 'Excuse me' after she's let one off.

madhouse2 · 02/09/2006 00:06

we say trumps
my mother in law is the worst she can't bend over or walk without out letting off
for some reason in our house we alwaya have to discuss who it was etc
when i was little it was always ingnored so i still find them funny as i was repressed!!
dd 5 is alyays saying that stinks have you trumped!!

zdl · 02/09/2006 06:15

Did anyone see Billy Connolly's routine on farts at yoga class last night? (very ).
DS came up with 'letting off' from school, so that's his word.
We don't need a word for them in this house, though, just a shocked look from the nearest parent is enough to send them all off into paroxysms of giggles.

flowertot · 02/09/2006 07:35

farty pops
