amusing toddler generated names for things

When ds was about 20m he started referring to his blankie as 'fwottie'. I checked many times with him, 'do you mean froggy?'but no, it is definitely fwottie. The blankie has a little elephant on it and he can say elephant so I can only conclude he's just created his own name for it. It makes me chuckle and I'd love to hear your other random toddler names for stuff.

Binoculaters = binoculars
Eyebulbs = eyeballs

Not sure if it was dd or my friends DS who came up with those but they spent so much time together (and talked that much rubbish!) it's all blurred into one ;)

TheAlyssWithTheMewlingQuim · 28/11/2013 22:21

I used to say 'woolly whoosh' for washing machine

lgwilk · 28/11/2013 22:28

Little one currently calls his bath sponge a munge.

DevonCiderPunk · 28/11/2013 22:29

DS calls Angry Birds "The Jumpy Show"

mrsmooms · 28/11/2013 22:39

DS age 2 calls the doorbell the 'ding ding button', which is nicely literal.

He always says 'meemock' for 'music', which I find myself using too.

Bananas were 'mee-ohs' for ages. No idea where that's from. Oh, and sausage rolls are always 'roll-rolls' in our house now ..

WhispersOfWickedness · 28/11/2013 22:40

We had eye bulbs too!

Also marvels instead of marbles Smile And my favourite, 'pleasure centre', which is where you go swimming/to the gym/for dance classes etc Grin

charitymum · 29/11/2013 00:15

My son's favourite dinosaur is a 'dinotots' (triceratops) which is what he called them when he was younger - he's 3 now and can say pterodactyl so I'm sure he could manage triceratops but it seems to have stuck.

surgicalwidow · 30/11/2013 13:47

Grin at 'pleasure centre'!

SomePeopleAreIdiots · 30/11/2013 16:20

igirisu · 30/11/2013 19:28

My son isnt talking yet but i used to call a chimney "chimbulley"
bed was "nonnies"
holding hands was "giss donney" i think that stemmed from "give me your hand" but my parents are brummies so the accent is probably to blame! Grin

igirisu · 30/11/2013 19:29

some of these are really tickling me!!!!

ShriekingGnawer · 30/11/2013 19:36

DS2 used to say 'dap' for blankets. I really have no idea why!

ShriekingGnawer · 30/11/2013 19:39

Ooh, and 'chowsers' instead of trousers and 'jarzees' for pyjamas. He was so sweet. He's actually asleep on the sofa next to me and very sweet. But he's nearly 4 now. I miss having a tiny one.

Jaffakake · 30/11/2013 19:44

cordyroy · 30/11/2013 22:44

These are lovely! my DS age 3 calls car transporters spamborters and his recent description of a cow hunt in the woods went horribly wrong (that one won't be a new family term!)

Judybluey · 30/11/2013 22:54
