Whats the best way to potty train?

i've no idea but marking thread as could do with some tips myself

It all depends.

How old is your child?

Are they conscious of doing wee/poo yet?

Do you work? Or are you at home full time or part time?

Lots of different ways work best for lots of different babies. Like most things with children there is no one set way, they're all different.

This book is very good. Its not prescriptive but is packed with useful tips and real life stories

We did stickers and (I'll be flamed for this) gummy bear vitamins (Boots - they're meant to have a little pack of 5 a day, and GP specifically recommended we get DS on a multivitamin so thought why not?) - worked an absolute charm. We also spent the first 3 days or so at home to start a pattern and never used pull-ups - straight to pants that DS chose so he didn't want to get them wet. It took about ten days!

We never used pull ups either. Everyone I know who did just seemed to have real trouble.

steph if you think Lo is ready, stay home for a few days. Leave Lo naked and leave a couple of potties out. We potty trained DS in hot weather like this. We put a sun hat on him, covered him in sun cream and stayed outside for as much as possible. Like extra it was sorted in no time and you'll soon be looking forward to a nice small handbag instead of your change bag
