I've got a 22 mth old and he is scrumptious!!!!

oliveoil · 23/05/2006 13:45

absolutely Smile

mine is 21 months (today!) and I love it

she has only just started walking in the last few weeks but says tons of words and pulls funny faces

and the way she looks up guilty when you walk in the room and you just know she has been up to something

niceglasses · 23/05/2006 13:45

23 month old here. My 3rd and I defo think 18-2 or so years is the best bit. I really could eat her.

oliveoil · 23/05/2006 13:47

podgy thighs and fingers

that nappy waddle

the giggles and squeals

curiosity in everything

WelshBoris · 23/05/2006 13:48

Awww Im in work and I cant wait to get home to her!

She loves animals at the moment so that planet programme on cbeebies is her favourite. Her best book has pictures of a tiger (she says grrr) and a kangaroo (she says boing) in it.

She is so loving and cuddly
Keeps getting better with age!

22 months here and even though he doesn't sleep at night, I could just eat him alive during the day. That first smile in the morning makes you completely forget about the night.

oliveoil · 23/05/2006 13:52

mine is a pain sleeping too, although last week she did a whole 5 days 7-7 and lulled us into a false sense of security grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

car = beep beep
dog =woooooooof
sirens = oooooooooooooooooooooooooh (pointing)

when she is upset and says "mama" and snuggles in and noone else will do, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

WelshBoris · 23/05/2006 13:55
Smile

cant wait to go home now

DS is 23m and it is a fantastic age! Smile

Agree with OO about the squidgy, podgy thighs ! DS has cheeks to match and you just want to squidge them all the time.

I also love the language development at this age -they come up with words that you wonder where on earth they learnt them and then they have those words that they "get wrong" (DS still insists on calling buggy/pushchair a "bugger").

Hes also started to get really cuddly and affectionate even with his big sister who he used to love winding up by running away everytime she went to hug/kiss him (as I type this he is trying to kiss the cat!)

littlerach · 23/05/2006 14:06

Yes, I have a 21 month old and she is won derful.

Okay, so she still doesn't really sleep well, and is a cheeky little monkey but oh, she is wonderful.

(so is DD1!)

IamBlossom · 23/05/2006 16:56

DS is 20 months and totally edible. Can roar like a lion, ooo ooo like a monkey and his FAVOURITE thing in the whole world is wandering round the garden with his daddy holding his own watering can.

Just started saying please and thankyou although it comes out as "Pees" and "Tatu mummy". I could seriously eat him, fact.

:)

stoppinattwo · 23/05/2006 20:09

My friends lil DS covers his eyes and thinks you cant see him. sooooooooo cute Grin

notasheep · 23/05/2006 20:17

IamBlossom- my ds is 20months,I could eat him up too.
His latest cute thing is going to get a towel so i can dry my hands and bringing me my doc marten boots when its time to go out for a walk(he can hardly lift them)

JoolsToo · 23/05/2006 20:17

dgs is scrumptious - he'll just run up to you, climb on your knee, turn around and sit astride and then throw himself on your chest and hug you tight! He's so happy and so mischievous!

fattiemumma · 23/05/2006 22:00

DD is 20 months and your right it is a great age.
she is so curious about everything and amazes me all the time with the new things she can do.
She doesn't say much but she is still very vocal lol.

she seems so grown up sometimes and yet still so very young at others.

GDG · 24/05/2006 10:38

It's a great age! Ds3 is 20 months and is such fun! He's so happy-go-lucky and smiley and full of beans! He is so, so cuddly too - much more than the older two were and he runs up for cuddles and kisses all the time.

I love his babbling and the odd words he can say and this week he's started to shake his head (usually at food - oh great!). He is obsessed with big trucks and spends the whole time in the car shrieking and pointing!

He knows what he wants and if he wants juice he goes the cupboard adn gets one of his cups out, then toddles over to the fridge and gets the fruit juice out and then brings it to me shouting 'JUICE, JUICE!'

Ds3 is edible at the moment!!

oliveoil · 24/05/2006 10:41

mine sits at the table with her fork and spoon going 'din din din din'

and then when she has had enough (about 2 spoonfuls grrrr) she looks down and then up at me with her big eyes and says 'no' and shakes her head

they must know how cute they are

WelshBoris · 24/05/2006 10:43

Oh DD knows all right!
Last night she was eating a youghurt on my lap and dropped some on my top

She said "oh mee-mee" in the cutest voice ever. Melts my heart everytime

my ds2 is 20mo and is so cute it should be illegal.Grin He swaggers like a little fat cowboy, with a pot belly and dimpled knees, and has a really dirty laugh and a toothy grin. He also has a hilarious temper GrinGrin

WelshBoris · 24/05/2006 10:44

Hiya Greeny I didnt know our LOs were the same age? DD was born on the 18/09

OP posts:
fattiemumma · 24/05/2006 17:33

WOW WB thats my DD's birthday too!

She most definatly knows she's cute. if she intends doing something she knows/thinks is naughty and catches you looking at her she gives you a really cute grin as if to say" you wont tell m off cos im soo adorbale"
thing is it usually works !

Oh and the temper....wow. but very funny watching her stamp her feet and then go sulk in the corner, hands over her head.
20 months going on 21 years!

ruty · 25/05/2006 17:17

My ds was born on the 13/09. 20 months. He knows he is cute too, can twist his mummy around little pudgy finger. In a strop he throws himself on the ground and writhes around like a romantic poet. And can clap in time to any music you like. Oh I could go on and on! Grin

hotmama · 25/05/2006 17:46

DD1 is nearly 20 months - Oct 04 baby but was due in Sept! Wink

I love her babbling, all her animal noises and actions, her running towards me when she sees me, her kisses for me and dp and especially the kisses and cuddles she gives to dd2 who is 15 weeks.

Aah the cute voice - I think they are pudgy so our nibbling doesn't show! Smile

pedilia · 25/05/2006 17:51

DS 2 is also nearly 20 months. Lovely age he never fails to make me smile, although he hasn't quite mastered 'bye' so he keeeps telling people to 'die'

hotmama · 25/05/2006 17:53

Oh forgot about the lack of volume control - so Bye is shouted to everyone - followed by blowing kisses to everyone! Grin
