I Just Love DSs Mispronunciations!

ow that's lovely. I love this age. I noticed as I watched both him and DD aged 6 going into the front room that he is now at the age of running everywhere. And DD has stopped running everywhere. he ran like the wind into the front room and she just casually sloped following him. I don't remember when she stopped that! Certainly not that long ago as I recall taking her to school with her running as usual and spotting older children walking, and wondered if DD would ever stop running

"Th" and "w" sounds are a struggle for DD at the moment, but instead of saying 'dat' and 'dose' we (or ve) get zat and zose. And "Senk you!"

It's like living with Greta Garbo's cheeky offspring in miniature. "No senk you, I vant to vatch Peppa Pig for von little epsissode, and zen I'll have tea."

Ds3 has been saying beemarto sauce instead of tomato sauce. Made me giggle when he said beemayonnaise today. He is just 4.

Love these! DS watches "po-grams" and says "do you berember, mum?". Oh, he watches his po-grams on the TB and also watches DBDs. So adorable!

My 20mo learnt the word 'cork' today. We live in Glasgow but she pronounced it in broadest Yorkshire.

TRazzle - DD has excellent pronunciation and about the only think she gets wrong is remember - it is fumember. I love it

DD2 had biscetti for supper.

She's 3 too. And loves Dorge pig.

DS2 is 21 months. Yesterday morning he came into our bed for his morning BF. His older brother was already in with us having a cuddle. DS2 very politely asked DS1 to move over so that he could have his milk.

DS2 'Me Me DS1' - he means excuse me

There is a theme. We get a lot of oodi, oodi, oodi syllable filling too - cute! But can make for difficulty understanding her!

I love when DS1 gets the 'constructions' out for his games (instructions). He's 4

They are great aren't they! DS 2.11 broadly speaks well... it seems funny considering all that I'm about to list:

Skank you = thank you
Wilf = wolf
Bandrage = bandage
Special ehlivery! = special delivery
Gisset = biscuit
Scotti = biscotti (Heinz baby ones; I'm not raising gourmet children)
'Lumpus at a vet' = (Hairy MacLary's) Rumpus at the Vet

He also had a big Vinnie the Vitch stage; 'w' is OK now mainly (shame about subsequent vowels). He often mishears articles and the like... he is very into Room on the Broom since broadcast, and will occasionally come out with: "I am a dog! As keen as a bee."

My 17 month old DD had been singing something that sounds miraculously like "old bastard" all week
We've now worked out its the doors on the bus going open and shut

When he was 2, DS used to call peacocks "big cocks" loudly and whenever he saw one (like at a farm or something! We don't keep them!) and he insists that the Fireman Sam theme includes the words "muck sack, make way for Fireman Sam..."

These are so lovely, and have put a smile on face ready to face the day. And, although DS has only been out of the house for 15 mins, I miss him! And DD!

So cute! DS's speech has got a lot clearer recently so I told DH off the other day for correcting something he was pronuncing wrong - I don't want him to grow out of all his mispronunciations!

Mine (DS aged 2.4) has lost loads of cute words recently, but luckily still says "w" for "l" so I get asked for a "wift up please" and "look at the pretty weaves".

He also still calls balloons "a boons" and pronounces some words in a bonkers posh accent.

LOVE the mini Greta Garbo.

DS (2.1) says "Luff-oo" for 'Love you'. Yesterday he began saying "lazy-boy" for 'ladybird'. But i put that down to his pesky daddy who was simultaneously trying to teach him 'lady boy'. And the award for worst parenting skills goes to my husband.

My DD also liked bescetti for tea!
She also enjoyed her gymlastics (tumbletots)
She's 8 now and most words are correct. If I could get her to pronounce the 'th' in the middle of her name rather than an 'f' we'd be there

my 3 year old has really delayed speech so he is only now learning to talk, in the last week he's learned to say mummy but he says it bubby cos he cant get the letters - so when he sees me now he starts to really happily shout bubby.. bubby.. bubbbyyyyyyyy its so cute

4 year old still has some mispronounciations too, cant even think what now though he always used to say nilk for milk, he still says bikkit (biscuit)

DD2 is just 4 and calls scissors 'snissors'. I love it. She calls her sisters Nintendo 'the intendo'.

D gets used a lot by DS age 3, so we have:
Drussel Strouts
Dagette

and we had to guess his friend at nurserys name 'it begins with D' it was 'Dorenzo'
