DD wants a sister. What should we do?

Our Little girl who's 3.8 desperately wants a sister, or a brother for that matter. As long as she can be a big sister I don't think she'd mind too much.

She'd be a lovely sister and I know that sometimes she gets lonely. The problem is financially it would be completely irresponsible. I am quite broody for the first time since having her actually, but I can't see how we could do it.

Some people just say, you'll make it work because you'll have to, but I don't know if that's good advice or not.

Anyone else having the same dilema?

No sorry, I meant as in - are you young enough to leave it a few years and decide then?!

Oh sorry, obviously read it wrong. I'm 26 so yes I suppose I would have plenty of time to wait. Just not sure if I want to.

Well ds must be very different then. He is 5.8years old and the only commnet he has ever made yet on being an only child is that it is great because he gets mums and dad all to himself. He made that comment on his own as part of a game and has NEVER asked about having a sibling. Dh and I have never sommented on it other than to confirm that he has not brothers and sisters when he is discussing his friends' family structures.

DS talks about his friends' sibling in a kind and interested way but has never mentioned having one of his own at all ever.

do you have children round to play tea etc? I was an only child but had lots of friends, my mum was very good at having friends round etc. also how about joining a club well outside school activities, rock climbing is all the rage now! drama classes etc
