Leila, Zoe or Hannah?

Hello - baby girl due this week, and all of these first names go well with our surname. I suppose if she is dark, Leila will make more sense, so we should keep an open mind for when we see her, but your thoughts would be much appreciated? Plus - middle names to go with Zoe and Hannah - I'm really stuck!

I love the name Hannah, but all three are lovely. You should definitely decide after meeting her and seeing her face. I think Mary (DD's middle name) goes well with Hannah.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 02/06/2010 18:48

I like Hannah best, Zoe second.

I don't dislike Leila, but there are some nicer L names (IMVHO):

Lana
Lara
Lyra
Leah

MamaVoo · 02/06/2010 18:49

I prefer Leila. Zoe Elizabeth?

pitterpatterfeet · 02/06/2010 19:38

Hannah definitely. By far the classiest IMVHO.

bigstripeytiger · 02/06/2010 19:39

I like Zoe best of those names.

they all seem quite different to me though, so maybe a case of seeing which one the baby looks like when she is born?

YellowRoseofTexas · 02/06/2010 21:02

I absolutely love the name Leila.

I don't think it really matters if the baby's colouring is dark or not (it is an Arabic name that means "dark beauty" or "night beauty"). Apparently there was also an Irish saint by this name.

janeite · 02/06/2010 21:10

Would choose Hannah over the other two. Zoe always sounds a bit 'hard' to my ear and I can't stand that song called Leyla - is it by Eric Clapton? I just find it a really unpleasant connotation, sorry.

Hannah is quite sweet. I agree with PitterPatter.

LiquoriceLila · 02/06/2010 21:45

Zoe is the nicest then Leila. Not fussed on Hannah

NadiaWadia · 03/06/2010 00:28

Leila and Zoe are both lovely, slightly-but-not-too unusual names.

Hannah is OK but a little dull -prefer Anna.

dinosaurinmybelly · 03/06/2010 00:46

Thank you all so much for your feedback. There is pretty much support from different quarters for all 3 which is very reassuring... and I do see the reservations some of you have mentioned on all 3 (Hannah being a bit dull, Leila being linked to the Clapton song, and Zoe being a bit of an odd sound at first) however they all go really well with our last name and my DS1 and DS2 names so they somehow make sense.

I didn't know there was an Irish saint called Leila - thanks so much for that info - I'm Irish. That might just swing it!

I love them all! As far as the song Layla, isn't Leila pronounced Lee-la?

diddl · 03/06/2010 08:34

Hannah-Elizabeth?

BlameItOnTheBogey · 03/06/2010 08:38

Love Zoe (with Charlotte as a middle name?)

alexisfaith · 03/06/2010 09:51

Leila

jabberwocky · 03/06/2010 13:50

Zoe Elizabeth was our girl name - but we had two boys!

MagalyZz · 03/06/2010 14:21

Zoe!

Leila is pretty but there are a lot of names like Lila Lilly lola libby.

Hannah is so popular.

Zoe is gorgeous. Classic, spirited, pretty.

minipie · 03/06/2010 14:36

Zoe or Leila

Hannah, to me, is a bit frumpy

mathanxiety · 03/06/2010 16:08

I love Zoe. They're all nice, but Zoe pips the others.

Othersideofthechannel · 03/06/2010 16:12

Renault have just brought out a car model called "Zoe"

mathanxiety · 03/06/2010 16:13

Zoe Serena
Zoe Helena
Zoe Eliza
Hannah Louisa
Hannah Elizabeth
Hannah Josephine
Leila Antonia
Leila Marianne
Leila Juliet

dinosaurinmybelly · 03/06/2010 17:54

Thank you - I love Zoe Serena... for some reason that is really clicking with me. I also like Leila Eve.

This is actually very organised for me - I went to hospital for the births of DS1 and DS2 with absolutely nothing concrete in my head. In both cases it did happen naturally quite quickly and they were both named within the hour - so perhaps that will happen this time too.

Many thanks again for all your contributions...

Leila

5DollarShake · 03/06/2010 18:10

Leila and Zoe for me. Lovely names.

Hannah is fine, but a bit run of the mill.

RealLifeMaryPoppins · 03/06/2010 22:24

I'm a Zoe Abigail, i love it! Please don't use the dots though!

lidofabiro · 03/06/2010 22:29
