What is the likelihood of Ophelia going ?downmarket? in the next 5 or so years?

I err towards classic English names (Jemima, Lucinda, Harriet?) but my husband who, although has lived in the UK since birth, is of Indian origin and is really not keen.

Ophelia is the only name we can agree on though I have a slight concern that it may be become a little chavtastic in the future? Am I being paranoid?

Oh and by the way I am very aware of the literary connection and not at all bothered! After all, was only fiction

This may be 3yrs out of date but I named my baby daughter Ophelia and to label her as a 'Chav?' Oh that speaks more about your own horrible snobbery than me naming her, mainly as...I just loved the name.

Also her name is shortened to Phe, as in Phe sounds like Fi but is a Phe sound...

Phes? Ive always found them to be lovely and both my mother and I worked with a few as teachers and myself? I was a support teacher once and the Phes I worked with? In a public then a private school? Lovely sweet kids!! really amazing little kids!! Phe was named after one who did work with :)

mean I have three different legal names as am adopted/was fostered but am in no way a 'Chav' as my parent who adopted me was kinda rich and I was brought up Upper-Middle class...Ive obviously more class than you as I dont bang on about people being 'Chav' for their name or worry about it....

Sorry but youve brought on some vitrioil....
