Looking for an under used pretty girls name?

Just as the title says really.
We've chosen Patrick with everyone on heres help, think its a lovely underused traditional name.
Now we are trying to find the equivalent for a girl.

But.... needs to go with ds's Alfie and Archie and a surname of one syllable beginning with C (so unfortunately Rose is out). I would also like something that is adaptable, so you can have a cute name (maybe nn) or a serious name when older.

I don't want much I know

Any help would be most appreciated.

Haven't looked through all the posts, so I expect I may be repeating, but I like

Sascha
Lara
Matilda nn Tilly

I don't know any girls with those names.

Poppy or Grace? Just popping my head in so apologise if mentioned already

Lilyloo · 02/07/2010 21:00

Love the boys name
dd2 is Martha and would have been Alfie if she was a boy.
I also have a Lily.

mathanxiety · 02/07/2010 21:08

Celia Rose
Cecelia Rose
Cecily Rose
Delia Rose
Adela Rose
Livia Rose
Hannah Rose
Helena Rose
Fiona Rose
Sylvie Rose
Sylvia Rose
Layla Rose
Alicia Rose
Serena Rose

Rosalie, Roisin and Romy are nice 'Rose' type names too.

Plumm · 02/07/2010 21:13

I've got an Ophelia and everyone says they love her name.

My nan was called Violet, nn Vicky. I like nn with a twist - people would assume her name's Victoria.

Both classics aswell, but quite unusual.

gigismummy · 02/07/2010 22:17

Most of the above seem pretty common to me. how about:

Polly
shoshana
Kashanda
Layla
Dulcie
Rosalie
Katya
Evelyn
Jodie
Angelique
Penelope

Evangeline

snice · 03/07/2010 19:12

I know loads of Millies under 10

Ineedsomesleep · 03/07/2010 19:14

If you really want an underused name then I wouldn't choose Millie, it was quite popular when I had DS about 6 years ago.

snice · 03/07/2010 19:16

Lucy seems to have gone out of fashion completely-don't know any

Ineedsomesleep · 03/07/2010 19:21

Lucy was very popular a while back too, I know several 10 year olds with this name.

snice · 03/07/2010 19:23

how about Susannah?

alfiemama · 03/07/2010 20:00

I think I have come to accept that popular is not necessarily a bad thing and that hubby just wont go for something too unusual.

I have to say, that now its more important the name fits in with our family, ie ds's Alfie and Archie.

I'm not in the uk but i know the cutest little girl called Greta. She also has sisters Clara and Ida (pronounced eeda). Love those names

Popular is a bad thing! Its boring. One third of the girls in dd's class have the same name. Think outside the box!(to use terrible term). There are lots and lots of lovely names outside the top ten.

ShoshanaBlue · 04/07/2010 22:52

Ariele ?

MrsC2010 · 05/07/2010 12:23

My current favourites are:

Charlotte Rose (Lottie as a nn)
Alice Rose (DH doesn't like Alice though)
Violet (not sure on middle name)

We also liked:
Ava (DH's favourite, a bit too popular for me)
Grace (I love, but ditto on popularity.)
Kitty
Rose

Lulabel27 · 05/07/2010 14:24

I love Camilla (nn Millie) or how about Ottiline / Ottilie very underused but there was a girl at school with this name and I loved it!

allfivehorizons · 05/07/2010 17:12

I like Amelie (you could use Millie as a nn) - although just to warn I think Amelia (which is similar) is in the top 10 girls names for 2009.

I would have Amelie for mine but my niece is Millie so I think it's too similar.

alfiemama · 05/07/2010 17:26

Thanks everyone, some lovely names coming up but hubby very old fashioned.
Kerala1, I understand about thinking outside of the box, but sometimes I do think we try to be too clever. I was reading a mag and little one was called Lettice/Lettuce (sorry to anyone who has a lo by this name).
I just think with my other children having old fashioned names that it would look silly having something too modern along side them.
Hence the older traditional names. However I love Camilla but with surname beginning with C and hubby not keen, not much I can do.

I also like Amelie, but again is it trying too hard, not overly keen on names spelt differently for the sake of it.
