Final decision: vote Owen or Rory!!

OK - after much to-ing and fro-ing (now v close to EDD!) we have narrowed our choice to either Owen or Rory - both with middle name Edward. Our DS1 is Ellis Robert - so wanted a similar 'feel' to that.

Any thoughts/preferences between the 2??

Any hidden pitfalls I've missed??

Thanks for your views xx

Owen Edward! Lovely with your DS name...
Congrats, btw

BallpointPen · 05/05/2010 11:43

Owen, don't like Rory.

elliemental · 05/05/2010 11:44

be careful with Rory as a name - might be prophetic

WorzselMummage · 05/05/2010 11:44

Rory !

It's m fantasy baby name at the moment but I think it's getting quite common.

I like Owen too though

ki28 · 05/05/2010 11:44

owen,as rory reminds me of the racing car.x

luciemule · 05/05/2010 11:44

If you say Ellis and Owen quickly(Ellis 'n' Owen), it could sound like 'Alison Owen'.
If you say Ellis and Rory, it flows better imo. Rory is v. cute - think my sister may be calling her next one that too.

To many threads about voting, I read "vote Owen or Tory"

I prefer Rory.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/05/2010 12:11

Owen if you're Welsh.
Rory if you're Irish.
Neither if you're English.

oceryo · 05/05/2010 12:45

Owen

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 05/05/2010 12:48

Oh they're both great but I agree with CantSleep to some extent; if you are either Welsh or Irish, use that to tip it over.

But I think you can get away with them if you're English.

dickyduckydido · 05/05/2010 12:49

Rory seems like a much more boyish name to me - I like it. (No offence to anyone with an Owen but) I think Owen sounds a bit weedy and girly.

silver28 · 05/05/2010 12:52

love the name rory, not keen on owen

EldonAve · 05/05/2010 12:52

Rory.

Owen, Eoin a bit bland in comparison. Jmo
