Thoughts on Lainey or Laina please

We are having real trouble deciding on a girls name. She is due in 4 weeks, so time is rapidly running out.

What do you reckon to Laina or Lainey -- we quite like them, but worried they are too similar to lane (i.e. passageway).

Been scouring the interweb but no joy -- other thoughts include Juliet.

Juliet is gorgeous. Lainey and Laine sound like nicknames for Elaine.

I like Juliet a lot, and there aren't a whole lot running around.

Good name for an adult as well, can't say that for Lainey/LAina tho#.

Lainey and Laina are not my thing with these spellings but I love Lena (said the same as Laina)

My DD2 has Lene as a middle name. It is pronounced Layna. It's a Danish name. We named her after a lovely Danish friend who sadly dies while I was pregnant. Would that be similar enough to Laine or Lainey?

What about Lena, Laura, Lianna, Lydia, Larissa (Laura), Lorraine, Louisa?

Lainey is short for Elaine IMO. How about Elena (my Greek friend named her baby that), Helena, Lene or (a bit out there) Yolaine (which means Violet) instead?

Juliet is great, I'm not so keen on Lainey/Laina but neither are awful.

How about Lana (as in Turner)?

I like Lainey but as an abbrevation for Helena. Never heard of Laina though so would be a bit about that one.

I don't like Laina and Lainey is just awful, sorry. It's used as a shortening for Lorraine.

Elena (Ellaina) or Eleni (Ellainee) are real names, would be more classy.

Juliet is much nicer than either one, imo. And I love Haliborange's suggestions.

I knew a Laina who was named after her mother Elaine.

What about Lania (pronounced to rhyme with Narnia)

I know a a lovely little girl with this name. Classy and sounds good for an adult as well as a little girl I think

Lainey is a nn for Elaine isn't it?
I prefer Lainey to Elaine.

I like Elen and Elena. Ylenia is a greek version and that's nice.

Lena is pronounced "Laina" without looking stupid.

I think Lainey is quite a sweet nickname, but I'd probably go for Helena as the long version, or something similar.
Juliet is nice too.
