Yes - sorry

artifarti · 28/04/2010 20:31

A friend at my school had the exact same name! Don't remember her being teased, didn't seem to be a problem for her at all.

Marne · 28/04/2010 20:31

I like it (its my dd1's name), i think it goes well with leigh.

scurryfunge · 28/04/2010 20:31

yes yes a definate no no

champagnesupernova · 28/04/2010 20:31

What about Vivien?

Littlefish · 28/04/2010 20:31

No, too many "l's".

scurryfunge · 28/04/2010 20:33

What about golight as a middle name

SmellsLikeTeenSweat · 28/04/2010 20:37

No. Sorry. Anyway, 'tis illegal unless your dd is born Dec-Jan.

bytheMoonlight · 28/04/2010 20:38

Still might use it.

The only other girls name I love is Rosa and thats a no no as well.

Fed up tbh

It's not as bad as if your surname was Wood. Or Berry. Or Day.

Greensleeves · 28/04/2010 20:43

How about Ivy, or Rowan?

oliviacrumble · 28/04/2010 20:50

I knew of a Holly Green when I was in college.

It is a no no unfortunately, but a nice name.

Alternative suggestion - Rebecca

No, it's wrong I'm afraid

NotanOtter · 28/04/2010 21:41

Galilee ?

Puff the magic dragon....

Elsa123 · 28/04/2010 22:21

I totally sympathise- I have a surname beginning with a and has lots of Ls, and am not sure whether to have a name ending in a. Here's some options for you- although of course you've probably already seen them!

Sophia
Grace
Sabrina
India
Charlotte
Hannah
Imogen

Hopefully this is helpful or might re-trigger your imagination. I do think Holly Leigh whilst written looks fine, but when you say it it does sound a little jumbled.

Magaly · 28/04/2010 22:24

no that doesn't work.

CakeandRoses · 28/04/2010 22:48

Sorry, a no here too. I'm usually quite forgiving with this type of thing but I'm afraid it does sound a bit odd.

littleoldme · 28/04/2010 22:52

"And frolicked in the Autumn mist in a land called Holly Leigh... "

Does sound a bit odd I'm afraid. I completely understand though; our last name is berry and I was desperate for William, Cerys or April.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 28/04/2010 23:30

It's a shame, but it just sounds wrong. YOu wouldn't know when to stop! 'Holleeleeleelee...'

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 28/04/2010 23:36

Not merely a no no, but a no no no NO. Sorry.

Casmama · 28/04/2010 23:38

It's really difficult to say - I wouldn't.
