Were really struggling with names and cant see to agree, I have two boys Alfie and Archie, so not sure whether to keep the granny chic or leave it there and have a more individual name.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Rosalie is indeed very nice and I think that it could work with your DSs if you really liked it enough because it has an extra syllable so it's not too samey

Liliana could be a compromise with your DH, sounds like Lily-Anne-A. ..?

lotster · 21/04/2010 18:10

Lots of nice names there but I vote for:

Louie or Noah

Emily or Sylvie

Sorry but Lillian just makes be think of the woman who runs the knocking shop in "Shameless" (nickname Bo Selecta)!!

And what precisely, is wrong with Charlotte?? HMM?

idobelieveinfairies · 21/04/2010 18:12

I definately think Rosalie..i think it's a beautiful name

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 18:13

I agree crumpette, they both work equally as well. I wonder which one will suddenly become very popular. With Alfie when I chose it, it was very rare, Sarah Lancashire had a little one in where the heart is. And then came Alfie blumming Moon lol.

Ah sorry Lotster absolutely nothing wrong with Charlotte, I just didn't want something too popular. Shows how nice it is, everyone has it

Emily is the most popular girls name and has been consistantly so for the last 10 years or so.
Think Elsie is nice.

Thanks Missyfafa, do you mean though its a consistent good name, or over used?

Henry

Hattie (if short for Harriet)
Holly
Lillian

Violet

Hulababy · 21/04/2010 18:45

Hattie - like this although less ken on Harriet
Heidi - not keen
Holly - ok

Lilian, or Lillian - like Lily, less keen on full versions, this I prefer Lilia as a full version
Lottie - fine as a nn, not a proper name on its own for me though
Maisie - pretty, but yes it is popular
Pippa - not sure, not keenonm Philippa either
Rosalie - prefer Rose and Rosie
Sylvie - don't like
Violet - don't like

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 18:53

thanks Hulababy and Debaronz.
Just asked the boys if they Like, Liliana, Rosalie and Harriet, they said they like Harriet as sounds like their friends name, Harry

Well, to me it doesn't matter if a name is popular or not. In fact they are usually lovely names and that is why this happens. If you like Emily go for it.
I have a Lily and also think Lilian is very pretty.
BTW. I actually love the name Rudy.

Dramamama · 21/04/2010 19:30

I love Rudy too, Have u thought about Lilia? rather then Lilian?

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 19:30

Rudy is cute, but I suppose when they are older, cute isn't always appropriate

pranma · 21/04/2010 19:31

I think Keeley is the only one I really dislike from those.

SardineJam · 21/04/2010 19:34

Alfie, Archie and Pearl?

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 19:38

I like Pearl Sardinejam, but no way hubby would agree lol

Louie - good, although toilet jokes might be tiresome
William - Billy good

Emily - it is popular for a reason, good name
Evie - Eve, simplicity
Lilian - prefer Lily

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 20:13

Thanks pointydog, good point about toilet humour. Hubby also said Louie Walsh lol

Sibble · 21/04/2010 20:29

Benjamin - know heaps
Rudy and Marley

Am in NZ and Noah is very popular here.

But I do like Cecily for a girl

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 20:33

Thanks Sibl, love Cecily, but hubby said "was I joking"
