Felicia and Sharnessa

How do you pronounce Felicia? Is it fel-EE-sha? or fel-ISS-ee-a?

And what do you think of Sharnessa? I know it is a made up name. A girl called this was in a band I LOVED when I was younger. What kind of impression does it give you?

First one makes me think of fellatio. Second one makes me think the parents were pissed and couldn't spell.

Sorry

ilovepiccolina · 14/04/2010 21:28

I would say Fel-EE-se-a but don't know if that's correct. Felisha rhymes with Belish might be right!

I don't like your made-up name, sorry. It sounds ...... made up! It will be shortened to Shar, as in Sharon, which is a bit 70s.

dizzydixies · 14/04/2010 21:29

eh no to both, sorry

dizzydixies · 14/04/2010 22:43

yes, really

MmeLindt · 14/04/2010 22:44

DD had a friend called Felicia. I thought it was really pretty.

Fe-lish-a

NN Feli

That was in Germany though so everyone knew how to pronounce it.

Sharnessa is plain awful.

mathanxiety · 15/04/2010 00:00

Both names are pretty horrible. Felicia is usually pronounced FelEEsha, AFAIK. Sharnessa sounds like a dreadful made up American name.

cheesesarnie · 15/04/2010 00:01

no and no.sorry

allydennis · 15/04/2010 00:02

drag queens

chiccadee · 15/04/2010 21:27

No and no. Allydennis says it all really.

DaydreamDolly · 15/04/2010 21:29

They sound like a porn film double act.

EricNorthmansmistress · 15/04/2010 22:12

Chynadoll your baby names are, pretty much without exception, all bad. but you know that don't you, you either don't give a crap or you are doing it to bait people

Oh, Felicia (Fe LIS ia) is quite nice actually. Sharnessa is vomitous.

fulltimeworkingmum · 15/04/2010 22:15

Felicia is way too close to fellatio and future class mates will be all too happy to point this out.
Sharnessa - what is that? Sounds like a brand of dodgy hair dye.

MrsPixie · 15/04/2010 22:17

very American - Rikki Lake...

tiredlady · 15/04/2010 22:17

OP,
weren't you the one who liked the name Yaniece?

Sharnessa is very Rikki Lake, sorry.

It's quite a feminine sound you're going for I think. How about looking up French or Italian names?
Any of these appeal?

Weren't they on Jeremy Kyle this morning?

OtterInaSkoda · 16/04/2010 16:17

I drive a Fel-is-ia. Never thought to refer to it as a Feleesha.

I quite like it as a name. Felicity would be nicer though.

Or how about Celica?

5DollarShake · 16/04/2010 16:23

After the Yaniece fiasco, I am of the opinion that ChynaDoll is just having a lend of us, TBH.

violethill · 16/04/2010 16:40

Have you been watching Priscilla Queen of the Desert, OP?
