We are having a little girl due in July and DP adores the name Rilliegh (pronounced rilley or rilee) I'm not sure, what do you all think?? Please be honest. Thanks

How is it pronounced?
Rill-ee?

Saying that, either way, no.

thisisyesterday · 06/04/2010 17:34

If you must do it then please spell it Riley

It isn't to my taste, personally, but it's not that bad

Rilleigh is awful thnoughh! it looks as though you would pronounce it to rhyme with willy

pooka · 06/04/2010 17:35

Would be more clear as "Riley" (if pronounced Rye-ly). I'm not keen on it as a first name.

If you mean a name that sounds like Rill-ee, then really really not keen.

5DollarShake · 06/04/2010 17:36

Where did he find the name?

I know that just because I haven't heard of it, doesn't mean it's made up, yada, yada - but is it made up?

Sounds a bit like a teenager saying 'really' - as in, 'I, like, rilly, rilly like him, yanno?'

A 'no' from me, but if you love it, go for it.

LynetteScavo · 06/04/2010 17:38

I'm not keen.

SpawnChorus · 06/04/2010 17:38

Oh Lord. You're going to be slated.

My honest opinion is that it sounds quite common, however if you and your DP adore the name then you should go for it.

CuppaTeaJanice · 06/04/2010 17:38

Not spelt like that - far too many letters.

Riley's normally a boys name, but you could perhaps get away with it for a girl.

tiredemma · 06/04/2010 17:40

In any form. No.

MrsMargate · 06/04/2010 17:43

Absolutely not. It's dreadful. Looks misspelled from which folk will make snap judgements about your IQ.

Riley if you must, and save it for when you have a boy.

BitOfFun · 06/04/2010 17:45

Not to my taste- but DO NOT SPELL IT LIKE THAT.

Danthe4th · 06/04/2010 17:50

Poor kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hocuspontas · 06/04/2010 17:50

You've spelt it two different ways in your thread title and opening post! Imagine the rest of the world trying to get to grips with it

No No No No.

madwomanintheattic · 06/04/2010 17:50

echo mrsm. sadly, i have already made a snap judgement about your iq. i know that says a lot more about me than it does about you, but please, save yourself from other awful judgey women like me.

(oh, and top tip - don't add it to the mn babyname finder and then post 'look, it's on the baby name finder, it's not made up!)

but, it's a free world and all that.

brimfull · 06/04/2010 17:51

Raleigh do girls bikes I think

senua · 06/04/2010 17:52

Rilleigh? Really?

CoteDAzur · 06/04/2010 17:53

Is that even a name?

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 17:53

wouldn't be my choice either sorry and my DD3 hasa name more commonly used for a boy

if you DO decide to go for it please use Riley spelling

I can see HOW Rilleigh is constructed now but still no

DuelingFanjo · 06/04/2010 17:57

people will pronounce it Rill-eee (as in 'Pill'-ee or 'fill-ee) the double LL will see to that.

hmmm perhaps if we are going for alternative spelling why not Wryly

????

deaddei · 06/04/2010 18:00

Awful.
I immediately thought of Raleigh bikes and "local bike"
Please don't do it.
