Naff(ish) - there are lots worse!

Not keen on Jack?

bibbitybobbityhat · 04/04/2010 22:40

Naff.

Spidermama · 04/04/2010 22:41

Very cool. Jackie or Jacks for short extra cool.

MakemineaGandT · 04/04/2010 22:41

naff

Spidermama · 04/04/2010 22:41

Original yet real. Excellent!

janeite · 04/04/2010 22:41

Naff, sorry. Hate surnames as first names.

lovesunnydays · 04/04/2010 22:41

sorry but really naff

gaelicsheep · 04/04/2010 22:42

Very naff I'm afraid and it will date dreadfully.

feedthegoat · 04/04/2010 22:43

Naff.

Spidermama · 04/04/2010 22:46

Ignore them. They have no imagination. All boys would be Charles, William and Jack if it were down to them.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 04/04/2010 22:46

I like
imaginary ds's middle name

however increasing popularity may lead to nafness imo

gaelicsheep · 04/04/2010 22:53

I just think it's naff naming a child after a recenty deceased popstar (I'm presuming that's the inspiration?)

evesnee · 04/04/2010 22:58

No, not the inspiration at all and I hadn't thought of that!

I take it you have a Jackson Spidermama?

OP posts:
gaelicsheep · 04/04/2010 23:03

In that case I really really wouldn't, because others will be!

evesnee · 04/04/2010 23:04

You might have a point there, I'd never thought of that :S

When i was younger i picked Jaxon Red as a boys name, but DH vettoed it

Clary · 05/04/2010 00:33

I personally am not keen on surnames as first names but I would never say a name was naff.

I believe Katherine Flett who writes in the Observer has a son called Jackson. I hav elong suspected her of being an MN-er

said · 05/04/2010 00:39

Nafferooni, I think

said · 05/04/2010 00:40

Phil Hogan also has a Jackson. and I like him and suspect his wife is an mner. Still naff name though

Clary · 05/04/2010 00:52

Yes IIRC Phil Hogan (whom I also like) has other kids called Baxter, Bradley and Harrison or Johnson or Tompkinson or similar surnames.

(oh Ok just checkd and it's Baxter, Jackson, Cameron and Ryan so the last 2 mor elike proper names in my book)

Spidermama · 05/04/2010 10:20

I don't have a Jackson - no. I just really like it. My boys all have uncommon names. I found boys names really hard.

There may be an MJ issue although his name was, of course, Michael.

Jaxon Red is a GREAT name. Maybe you could let your ds know that if dh hadn't stopped you that would have been his name (perhaps at some level IS his true name.) Maybe then he can choose to adopt it with some credibility.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 05/04/2010 10:21

Naff

Skegness · 05/04/2010 10:23

Naff.

jellybeans · 05/04/2010 12:22

Not personally keen on surnames as first names but Jackson and Harrison are OK.

cravingcroissants · 05/04/2010 12:25

naff
