Sorry to start a new thread, but I forgot to ask about Sally in my Hazel thread.
Opinions please
I dont understand why it is not popular like Molly, Millie, Maisie etc? Is there something wrong with it that I don't know about? Dh adores it so I have promised to seriously consider it, whilst drawing up my long list!

Yes lovely name
It has a cheerful sound to it

Slartybartfast · 02/04/2010 22:57

lovely

LynetteScavo · 02/04/2010 23:00

It's lovely, and underused. I've no idea why.

LynetteScavo · 02/04/2010 23:01

Sally wouldn't be miserable, would she.

Slartybartfast · 02/04/2010 23:03

there are quite a few songs with Sally in the title.

or perhaps it just hasnt come back.. it might do now though.

TheCrackFox · 02/04/2010 23:07

Lovely.

jasper · 02/04/2010 23:08

cute as cute can be. love it

vaganova · 02/04/2010 23:10

It's not my taste, but it sounds fine and is probably ready for revival. Only negative that it is a bit of a 'wet' name in my opinion.

iskra · 02/04/2010 23:11

I met a newborn Sally the other day & wondered why there aren't more. I like it.

twolittlemonkeys · 02/04/2010 23:11

I love it! A friend's 5 year-old is called Sally and I think it's a fab name

Earthymama · 02/04/2010 23:12

Sally-Ann?
Sally is gorgeous.
My friend is Sally Anne, known as Sal, Sally or Sally-Anne and I love them all!

houseworkhater · 02/04/2010 23:19

Due a revival I think. Btw I prefer it to Hazel, I knew a not so nice Hazel and it put me off the name.

MillyMollyMoo · 02/04/2010 23:22

Oh god no, brothers psycho ex, the most miserable cow you could hope to meet, nothing like the lovely aunt Sally at all, but we did call brother worsel for the duration of their relationship to entertain ourselves.

KAEKAE · 02/04/2010 23:31

Ummmm I am not sure about it TBH. Its okay but I think there's much nicer names out there!

LaRagazzaInglese · 03/04/2010 02:07

Both Sally and Hazel remind me of Firle bonfire society! but i like both names maybe prefer Sally out of the 2, agree it should be like Molly or Milly but it's better and won't turn chavvy over time!

tummytickler · 03/04/2010 08:39

LaRagazzaInglese - ooooh - who are you - you have to tell me - it will drive me mad (and I clearly need to be more discreet online!).
TBH - I had never thought about that!

I absolutely love this name - very elegant and positive name

mumatron · 03/04/2010 09:33

tis my mums name. she hates it.

dizzydixies · 03/04/2010 09:34

no, sorry - I find it very wet as the two girls at my school who had it were just awfully drippy, it also reminds me of Sally in Corrie

can anyone think of any positive, strong Sallys?

mathanxiety · 03/04/2010 17:45

I prefer Hazel Hazel could have any personality, but Sally would have to be sunny or it wouldn't work. I prefer Sadie as a nn for Sarah I think it's stronger.

Ellokitty · 03/04/2010 18:33

I like it. I know of one three year old Sally. I think it is cute and pretty.

asdx2 · 03/04/2010 19:00

Love it, would have been my dd's name but promised to let her sister name her and so she is Lucy

LittleSilver · 03/04/2010 20:20

Awful, dated and uninteresting.

Pofacedagain · 03/04/2010 20:28

Sally Hawkins very good actress.

Quite like Sally. I think it is short for Sarah?
