Iris or Daisy?

Which is more classy and sophisticated?

DH has his eyes on one and me the other..

Iris is definitely more classy and sophisticated.

Daisy is cute but it's a bit twee and also a bit overused imo. And also a bit cutesy for an adult.

Iris is gorgeous!

notsoteenagemum · 27/02/2010 10:40

Daisy is nice.
Iris is lovely.

ilovesprouts · 27/02/2010 10:41

daisy ,iris is old fashoned imo

choosyfloosy · 27/02/2010 10:45

Iris is hot hot hot. And lovely.

Daisy is lovely. But not hot - lots of approx 30-year-old Daisies (Daisys?).

I'll be honest - if I were a little girl again, I'd rather be called Daisy. But if I were naming a girl now, I'd probably pick Iris.

Actually I wouldn't, I'd pick Rose. But that's just me.

telsa · 27/02/2010 10:59

Daisy is much sweeter and gives a prettier image in the mind.

allydennis · 27/02/2010 11:02

iris - deffo more classy

LaDiDaDi · 27/02/2010 11:03

Iris

mathanxiety · 27/02/2010 18:36

I would choose Iris. Instead of Daisy, I'd be inclined to go for Marguerite or Rita.

juneybean · 27/02/2010 18:37

I love both

SqueezyB · 27/02/2010 19:01

Iris definitely!

ok, sorry but have to disagree I hate Iris

lifeas3plus1 · 27/02/2010 19:24

Iris is lovely.

I really like Rosa as a first name though.

janeite · 27/02/2010 19:26

Daisy is lovely - I have one.

there's something about the name Rita that puts me off, for some reason. I always think it sounds brassy. Ignore me though!

menomena · 27/02/2010 19:57

Both are very pretty but I think Iris sounds more sophisticated and Daisy seems cuter. Iris' popularity seems to be really taking off at the moment though, if they bothers you.

Sorry but I would never describe daisy as sophisticated or classy.
Iris is slightly more classy but is getting very common.

loobylu3 · 27/02/2010 22:40

I like both a lot. I love Iris actually!

Daisy is sweet and pretty, Iris is a Greek Classic as well as being a flower so feels a little more substantial for that reason perhaps.

serinBrightside · 27/02/2010 23:25

Maybe because I began training as an optician I can't get beyond the anatomical!! I love Isis though and think it has a softer sound.

said · 27/02/2010 23:40

Yes, Isis is good. Bob Dylan song as well - what more could you want?

Meanbeansmum · 28/02/2010 11:06

Iris is classier, daisy is cute!

sassysass · 01/03/2010 22:24

Thanks. Anyone else?

Agree wholeheartedly with Bunny at 10.39

Jamieandhismagictorch · 01/03/2010 22:27

Iris, definitely

Daisy is pretty for a baby/child, but more like a nn, to me

dizzydixies · 01/03/2010 22:51
