Pretty but slightly unusual girls names....

We are currently toying with either Romilly or Darcey for DC2 (due in 2 wks). I think both these names are very pretty and slightly unusual. However, I don't feel that either of them is THE ONE. Inspiration needed along the same lines please.... DH is of no help whatsoever!!

I recently met a woman named Aurelia, beautiful name and I've never met one in real life before

ovumahead · 26/04/2015 08:05

Elodie is becoming very popular now. Quite a few of the suggestions you've been given are name that are rising in the popularity charts so by the time your ds is at school, there may be a few of them! Research the stats on the name well if you truly want to avoid an overly popular name. I loved Romiley too but my husband said no, as it reminded him of Romiley Weeks a comedy show character (can't remember which show)... Bit of a week argument but hey ho! Still deciding here too...

ovumahead · 26/04/2015 08:05

DD not DS obviously...

TheHappyCamper · 26/04/2015 08:32

I like Iona, Isla and Violet. I do like Romilly as well. I like Imogen too. Not so keen on Darcey.

In terms of popularity, anything beginning with E seems to be extremely prevalent round here - Emily, Ellie, Ella, Eve, Evie, Evelyn, Emma, Erin, Eva. That's about half of dd's Yr1 class!

vdbfamily · 26/04/2015 12:22

I have a Katja and wanted her to be Katerina but DH felt that was too long! I love the name Kezia too.

vdbfamily · 26/04/2015 12:24

That's hilarious.....this child will be at school already and we are suggesting names!

BreeVDKamp · 26/04/2015 12:28

Yes I doubt OP is still reading. Zombie threads are so annoying, why do people do it??? I had some lush suggestions!!!

GreatAuntDinah · 26/04/2015 20:04

Minou is French for pussy. In both senses of the word. Don't call her that!

Letitgoletitgo · 26/04/2015 20:15

Somebody said Blythe which I think is lovely.
I also love Sadie.

Tranquilitybaby · 26/04/2015 20:20

Both are beautiful babes. Ignore the chav comments, certainly never heard Darcey as being a so called chav name. Hmm
