Bucharest · 05/02/2010 13:07

Oscar.

Good luck!

nigglewiggle · 05/02/2010 13:08

I like them all ....

OK, Henry is my favourite and I'm not so keen on Mony or Jonty.

Are you really in labour? How exciting - tell us more.

butadream · 05/02/2010 13:14

Good luck!

I like Henry and Oscar about equally, not keen on any of the others but do not hate them and would not think badly of anyone bearing them.

I love Monty, Jonty and Henry - timeless classics that won't date!

Oscar and Archie are a little bit too trendy for me at the moment.

Good luck with the birth!

liahgen66 · 05/02/2010 13:31

Henry

Good luck. x

Blanchet · 05/02/2010 13:32

In order of preference:

  1. Oscar
  2. Jonty as nickname for John/Jonathan
. . . .
  1. Henry and Archie
. . .
  1. Monty
Blanchet · 05/02/2010 13:33

& good luck!

shoobidoo · 05/02/2010 13:34

Love, love Monty (Montgomery).

Jonty is nice as a nickname for Jonathan.

Don't like Oscar at all.

TheCrackFox · 05/02/2010 13:34

1 Oscar
2 Henry
3 Monty

Good luck x

Skegness · 05/02/2010 13:37

My cat is called Monty. He is mostly lovely but does bite sometimes when one least expects it.

Jonty is not a great name, in my view.

Archie- quite sweet but not to my taste.

I would go for Oscar (though agree it's v trendy right now) or Henry.

And GOOD LUCK giving birth!

ShowOfHands · 05/02/2010 13:37

Oscar and Archie super popular and will date quickly.

LOVE Henry and Monty.

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 05/02/2010 14:07

does it matter that I have a regal surname?!

OP posts:
mixedmamameansbusiness · 05/02/2010 14:09

In order:

Oscar
Henry
Archie (Mitchell springs to mind sorry)
Monty
Jonty

mixedmamameansbusiness · 05/02/2010 14:12

Ohhh and just remembered you are in labour so good luck. I dont think a regal surname matters.

shoobidoo · 05/02/2010 14:30

I would avoid Oscar and Archie - both are very 'now' and will date badly imo.

Monty, Henry and Jonty are all fab classic names that are much more timeless!

Good luck!

PanicMode · 05/02/2010 14:36

We have narrowed our choice down to Monty - it's the only name that we can all agree on. DS1 has vetoed all of my other favourites (Magnus, Jasper, Rory, Casper).

We would have had Henry but it doesn't work with our surname.

Oscar and Archie are super popular.

Jonty - I love this too, but DH vetoed as he doesn't like Johnathan and we would have put a long name on the birth certificate.

Best of luck!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/02/2010 14:42

Henry and Monty are my favourites

Good Luck !!

Sunshinemummy · 05/02/2010 14:50

Henry - no
Oscar - like but quite popular
Archie - like but really popular
Monty or Jonty - like both of these a lot

nickelbabe · 05/02/2010 14:53

i like Henry and Archie.
oscar's overdone at the minute.

shouldn't you be concentrating on more important issues right now?

can we make this into a labourthread?

MmeLindt · 05/02/2010 14:55

Henry -

Oscar - my favourite

Archie - don't really like, too Scottish

Monty and Jonty - don't like

Regal surname may be a problem if you go for Monty or Jonty because then it sounds like an American Rapper or box promoter (if you mean K regal) Henry also a bit strange.

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 05/02/2010 14:58

Would Monty be ok as brothers name is Max??
Although one of our girl choices is a M name too!

OP posts:
shoobidoo · 05/02/2010 15:11

Monty and Max are perfect together!
