My daughter will be one of these. Which one, I don't know.

Help me to decide please.

PS I know they are both very popular but this does not concern me. I have a very unusual name and hated the fact when growing up.

Daisy is pretty and wholesome whereas Ruby is more sultry iykwim?

I know loads of Rubys and no Daisys, but if you want to go with the most popular then choose Ruby.

Personally I would go with Daisy as it feels fresher if that makes any sense?

Daisy. I prefer the sound of Ruby, it's actually a prettier sound. But I think Daisy won't become quite so popular. It's a better long term choice.

oh, you don't care about popularity? even so. Ruby is number two. I think. bit too popular. your daughter might care about popularity.

Daisy. Ruby is a bit common now.

BooHooMonkey · 31/01/2010 00:26

DD was going to be Ruby, loved the name. Until I was subjected to a horrible chain smoking woman in our local shop every morning wearing horrible baggy jogging bottoms with her grey white thong garroting her buttocks shouting RUBY? RUUUUUUBY? GET HERE NOW. WHERE'S NINTENDO? (or similar). But, really it's up to you, I have no opinion.

birthmum · 31/01/2010 00:32

Daisy.
I wanted a Daisy but I've got lots of boys

mathanxiety · 31/01/2010 04:11

There are a lot of names in between very unusual and really, really popular.

akhems · 31/01/2010 07:21

I love them both but I think Daisy wins for me

beccagrace2 · 31/01/2010 10:20

i prefer ruby, but with either name i think a more unique mn is needed, ie not rose, may, grace! ruby may or daisy may are soooo popular where i am, and whenever a baby is born with either name at the mat hosp i work in i just know the mn is going to be may/mae/mai

yama · 31/01/2010 10:23

loobylu3 · 31/01/2010 11:53

Daisy for me too.
