Lara

I once knew of a Larissa, silly little madam she was, so that is out for me! (sorry)

Lara Jane (or Jayne)
Lara May

I prefer Lara although you could call her Larissa and give her Lara as a nn!

Plus you'll probably find a lot more middle names that will go with Larissa.

fruitshootsandheaves · 24/01/2010 16:10

I know a Larissa, she is lovely

Lara always reminds me of Lara Croft, Tomb Raider.

no idea about middle names though, was useless at choosing them for my own DC's

hormonalmum · 24/01/2010 20:27

Larissa is my favourite

DiamondHead · 24/01/2010 20:28

I'll vote Lara

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/01/2010 20:29

Toffeepopple · 24/01/2010 22:32

My friend Lara wishes she had been called Larissa, with Lara for short.

bellissima · 25/01/2010 09:06

Lara. Or preferably Clara. Lara (and indeed Larissa) sound like you've missed the 'C' off the beginning.

Buda · 25/01/2010 09:08

Prefer Laura to Lara.
And prefer Karissa to Larissa!

But that's not what you asked is it??!

messygarden · 25/01/2010 09:09

Lara is really nice.

Larissa is to fiddly for me.

mummyloveslucy · 25/01/2010 10:01

I love the name Clara and Lara is so much nicer than Larissa.

stoppingat3 · 25/01/2010 10:22

I have a Lara Elizabeth, but I wanted a Beatrice!

cassell · 25/01/2010 10:28

definitely Lara - I was Larissa on my birth cert and never used it and changed it to Lara by deed poll a few years ago

emsyj · 25/01/2010 17:16

I know a Lara and a Larissa. Lara is okay, not really someone I'd be genuine friends with, a bit fake nicey-nicey, and is engaged to a buffoon. Larissa is lovely - very pretty indeed, the nicest, sunniest person you could wish to meet (without being sick-making), and also very bright (a City lawyer, I used to work with her). On that basis I vote for Larissa. Her middle name is Heidi

mathanxiety · 25/01/2010 19:07

Lara, definitely.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 25/01/2010 20:04

Lara

Cara is nice too

and Lyra

thisisyesterday · 25/01/2010 20:04

i prefer Lara

Flightattendant · 25/01/2010 20:12

Who was the one in Dr Zhivago?

pointydug · 25/01/2010 20:18

Much prefer LAra

pointydug · 25/01/2010 20:18

Lara in Zhivago

MrsMattie · 25/01/2010 20:19

Lara is lovely.

Larissa is overly fussy and flowery.

loobylu3 · 25/01/2010 21:12

I think it was Larissa in Dr Zhivago but she was always called Lara as a nn.

butadream · 25/01/2010 22:36

I was going to say Lara but now loobylu mentions Dr Zhivago I'll agree with Larissa and Lara as a nn.

mathanxiety · 25/01/2010 23:08

Lara reminds me of a lovely spot in Wicklow, Ireland, near Glendalough (Laragh).

neolara · 25/01/2010 23:11

I have a Lara. I was worried about the Tomb Raider connection, but only one person made the link. Everyone else said "Dr Zhivago? How lovely".
