Mia and Luca or Freddie for me!

Sunshinemummy · 21/01/2010 11:29

I like Mia and Giselle.

Luca and Freddie for boys for me too.

WowOoo · 21/01/2010 11:30

Same for me too. Prefer Mia, Luca or Freddy.

If I had to choose another girls name would be Arielle. In fact it's growing on me.

CinderellaRach · 21/01/2010 11:37

I love Mia but hate that it is so popular now. Thanks for the feedback!

Giselle and Asher

sonniebonnie · 21/01/2010 13:12

I like Giselle and Arielle.

I'm not keen on your boys' names, but if I had to choose, I'd say Asher.

bellissima · 21/01/2010 14:20

Mia v late 90s/early noughties - Kate W et al naming daughters. Also know two Anglo-Japanese Mias (it fits in both languages). But I prefer to the others. Arielle sounds like a Barbie movie name and Giselle I'm just not keen on.

Like Danny but I would use as nn for Daniel.

mathanxiety · 21/01/2010 14:32

Asher and Mia -- I prefer Giselle as a girl's name, but you already have Ellis and I think Ellis and Giselle would be too many ELL sounds.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/01/2010 14:41

Giselle or Mia (on balance prefer Giselle)

Asher (first place) or Luca

I like Daniel (but not Danny), but the others are more unusual.

nickytwotimes · 21/01/2010 14:42

I like Mia, Luke and DANIEL with Danny for a nickname.

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2010 14:43

Mia and Luca

Asher and Ellis don't somehow work together, although both very lovely names.

PollyTechnique · 21/01/2010 14:49

Like them all!

Perhaps Giselle and Arielle don't run off the tongue too well with Ellis.

CinderellaRach · 21/01/2010 15:45

Thanks!Yes I agree pollytechnique that Ellis sounds similar to the girls names.Would people always notice that?I hope not as they're the only like(or can think of)! It's really difficult!

I loved Giselle when pregnant, but I do think it is a name for a slight girl. I am six feet tall and knew I would e having a big bubba. I think it's the association with 'gazelle'. And with ballet. A big heifer of Giselle wouldnt be right.

Mia is lovely but much much more popular than your other favourites.

Arielle is pretty, although IO'm not familiar with it. I know Ariel as a boy's name. Ariana?

I like Danny/Daniel and Asher best from your boy's names.

CheerfulYank · 21/01/2010 15:58

Mia, as Arielle and Giselle are too close to Ellis.

Like Daniel and Luke best from the boy choices.

CinderellaRach · 21/01/2010 16:05

Thanks MrsMattie! What name did you go with in the end?My husband said the same as you! She'd have to be feminine and on the petite side and my husband is 6ft3 and I'm 5ft4!!

There are 4 Mia's in my DD's class. It is a lovely name though. There are a couple of Arielle's around here in the Jewish circles.

jellybeans · 21/01/2010 17:59

I only like these..

Mia
Luke
Danny
Freddie/Freddy

MaggieNilAonSneachta · 21/01/2010 18:04

Danny or Freddie are lovely.

Giselle is nmsaa. I love Estelle though. Gigi and Giselle are a bit striperish.
Mia is nice but a bit to simple. I like it as a nick name for Amelia
Arielle is ok. is it pronounced like Ariel the washing powder or with emphasis on the ELLE, with more of an a sound than Ariel, which is really a bit like aireeyal.

What about Gabrielle? or marianne (with Mia for short)

mummamango · 21/01/2010 18:07

Mia and Luca for me. How about Mila if Mia too popular?

PoppityPing · 21/01/2010 18:11

I love Giselle, but would be worried about is becoming Jizz

jeanjeannie · 21/01/2010 18:14

Giselle and Luca.

PorphyrophillicPixie · 21/01/2010 19:25

Girls names sound very Disney Princess (though I see that you are one yourself ) in that they're pretty and cutesy girls names. I agree with the others though, Giselle and Arielle sound too much like Ellis. I like Luke out of the boys names

stuffedmk · 22/01/2010 11:38

Mia and Luke

Ziggurat · 22/01/2010 11:43

Mia is nice but as has been said - very popular.

I like Luca/Lucas and Daniel.

I work with an Ariella, if that works better Ellis.
