Names to go with Astrid - suggestions please

OK, I know it shouldn't matter what first DC but..... DD1 is called Astrid and DC2 (gender unknown) due in a few weeks. Can't decide on possible names - boy or girl but especially girl! The Scandinavian connection is pretty weak so we don't want Ingrid or similar but I keep vetoing names with an obvious origin as might sound a bit confused- or perhaps am being over-sensitive! We have a fairly plain, 2 syllable, English surname. Please help!

I would stick with the Northern European theme, it's quite classy as themes go IMO. I also like the idea of another beginning with a vowel.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I worried that using another such name might look - dare I say it - a bit pretentious but I am liking some of this suggestions. I think it's much harder with girls names for some reason. A friend suggested Thea but DH vetoed it as a 'non-name' (!) - any thoughts?

Lockets, I agree - I think he thought it was just an abbreviation of Anthea, a name he is not fond of. But I have looked it up too and pointed out his error to him! I like the name Isla (suggested by a few here) but I friend of ours called their DD that (although they live in the States now...)

Astrid and Esme
Astrid and Lois (not overly fond of it tbh but they sound nice together)
Astrid and Emmeline
Astrid and Elinor
Astrid and Isobel
Astrid and Cecily

I feel as if the name needs to have a sort of 'flowing' sound if that makes sense, to contrast with the harder 'D' in Astrid. I may well be talking nonsense though!

Boys' names - erm....

Astrid and Hector
Astrid and Rupert
Astrid and Benjamin
Astrid and William

Would your Dh go for Theodora? Equivalent of Theodore -- think it means love of god, something like that.
