No.

DiamondHead · 15/12/2009 15:51

Is this after Cecil Rhodes

turkeydrumstix · 15/12/2009 15:52

Um, you should probably do some research on Cecil Rhodes before you decide to inflict that on your daughter!

skihorse · 15/12/2009 15:52

No, it's a bit "loaded". How about Adolf instead?

DiamondHead · 15/12/2009 15:55

Adolph's not so feminine though. If I was going down that route, I'd use Adolpha or Aldolphia.

MaggieAnFiaRua · 15/12/2009 15:57

Cecily would be better.

MaggieAnFiaRua · 15/12/2009 15:58

or Rhoda?

rhodesia is awful. like thingy baldwin and bassinger calling their child eye ur land.

Cortina · 15/12/2009 15:59

Ireland, India, Rhodesia, China....?

Kathyis12feethighandbites · 15/12/2009 16:00

She would never be able to visit Zimbabwe.

Cortina · 15/12/2009 16:02

Zimbabwe would be a good nickname?

I know one and she's beautiful and talented and it's got me thinking.....

OP posts:
latestincarnation · 15/12/2009 16:09

MaggieAnFiaRua · 15/12/2009 16:09

Zimbe would be nice (zimbee)

latestincarnation · 15/12/2009 16:12

WinkyWinkola · 15/12/2009 16:13

No. NO. No. No. No.

krugerparkrules · 15/12/2009 16:14

It carries an awful amount of baggage that name, and i am not sure your daughter/son would want to have to carry that with them - are you aware of the name change from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe and all that it entailed .... the name carries a history .... i would step away ....

mathanxiety · 15/12/2009 16:15

No. And .

christiana · 15/12/2009 16:15

GrimmaTheNome · 15/12/2009 16:18

And the next one could be Kampuchea, maybe?

Ondine · 15/12/2009 16:21
  • where did you get the idea from, has someone else called their baby Rhodesia?!

You musn't do it, it's just so loaded as skihorse says.

I say this as someone from that part of the world as well.

SerenityNowAKABleh · 15/12/2009 16:23

No no no no no no no. Man, as a Southern African I would think you were either dim or totally pro megalomaniac British men.

peacocks · 15/12/2009 16:24

nooooo!

fluffles · 15/12/2009 16:24

absolutely not.

what about Rhona?

SerenityNowAKABleh · 15/12/2009 16:25

Or Rhoda. Close, but not actually Rhodesia

peacocks · 15/12/2009 16:26

But Mali, that's nice. And Chad for a boy. Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo I would avoid.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 15/12/2009 16:26
  • would that be Northern (Zambia) or Southern (Zimbabwe}
