Clementine Pearl for a December baby?

Have decided on Clementine Pearl.
Made the mistake of telling people and have had one or two comments of "How seasonal!"

What do you think?
General thoughts and comments on the name would be appreciated too. We received another comment that it was fashionable at the moment too?

I know we shouldn't listen to people, but forewarned....

Don't like Pearl, hate Clementine. Sorry, it's one of those names where if I asked someone what they'd called their child and they said 'Clementine Pearl', I'd remain silent......but if you love it, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks

theres too much of it - i think its very 'MTV cribs'

KERALA1 · 30/11/2009 14:40

Love it. Also dont think it seasonal. Am ROFL about potential teasing because of two nouns!

spaghettina · 30/11/2009 16:58

I love both Clementine and Pearl and have never associated Clementine with Christmas!

Ronaldinhio · 30/11/2009 17:03

rubyslippers · 30/11/2009 17:07

I love it, too (am thinking of Edie Clementine for my DC2 if it's a girl ).

Saw in my name book that Cleo is an accepted nn for Clementine, which I prefer to Clem or Clemmie.

Would you pronounce 'Clemen-teen' or 'Clemen-tyne'? I'm of the 'teen' school of thought...

mathanxiety · 02/12/2009 17:45

I would be a lot more inclined to associate pineapples with Christmas.

nooo, it must be Strawberry Cream (Quality Street) or Holly Berry or Winter Snowbunny - in fact I may know start a thread asking for best seasonal names.

i have a Clementine and she is a Christmas baby

maxbear · 04/12/2009 11:08

Lots of Holly's, Carol's, Noe'ls are born around Christmas time and I think it is lovely. Clementine is a nice name and does not specifically make me think Christmas anyway. Its your baby, if you like it then go for it.

Xavielli · 04/12/2009 16:06

Really dislike both names, but wouldn't think of it being seasonal.

Bewler · 04/12/2009 16:15

agree with thesecondcoming

Tangerine dream sounds like a shade of Dulux

MintyCandyCane · 04/12/2009 16:16

I think it is a lovely name

matildamum · 04/12/2009 20:04

Big thumbs up from me! Absolutely love both, I think they're beautiful names.
DC2 would have been a Clementine or a Clemency if he'd been a girl...but I've got a Rafferty instead!

Crazycatlady · 09/12/2009 14:42

Really pretty name, wouldn't associate Clementine with Christmas. My DD is Beatrice Clementine, and she was due on Boxing Day (didn't arrive til mid Jan but that's another story). Anyway, no-one has ever asked if it was a seasonal thing, have had lots of lovely comments on her name though.
