I think it's nice.

JaneiteMightBite · 26/11/2009 20:12

Lovely - but please don't shorten it to Pru, which is far from lovely.

weaselm4 · 26/11/2009 20:13

Love it as Dear Prudence is a brilliant song!

PheasantPlucker · 26/11/2009 20:13

I know a 30 year old Prudence, usually called Prue. She is physically gorgeous, and one of the nicest people imaginable! 'So it's a yes from me'!

teameric · 26/11/2009 20:14

I think it's lovely

Hulababy · 26/11/2009 20:15

I am nt that keen on the name personally. However there is a little girl in the year below DD called Prudence and it really does suit her.

Jujubean77 · 26/11/2009 20:15

I love it - was on my list - sounds like she will be graceful and dignified.

yama · 26/11/2009 20:15

I am surprising myself by quite liking it.

Spidermama · 26/11/2009 20:15

I very rarely say this on names threads but, NO it's awful.

I think of 'Kiss Prudence' from the Mike Leigh play Nuts in May.

MaggieBelle · 26/11/2009 20:16

Really uptight and sanctimonious

potatofactory · 26/11/2009 20:16

lovely

KERALA1 · 26/11/2009 20:17

There was one at school who was a real sex bomb I think people sniggered at the sheer inappropriateness of her having that name.

That aside I am on the fence with it. Usually really like non top 10 names but not sure the sound of it is particulary attractive and it does sound prim.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 26/11/2009 20:18

I think it's quite nice, but I have a little Verity at home, and also quite liked Constance... so into the 'virtue' names

halfcut · 26/11/2009 20:18

awful

KERALA1 · 26/11/2009 20:22

oooh now I really like Verity

RhinestoneCowgirl · 26/11/2009 20:24

thanks KERALA, DH didn't like it initially as 'you can't shorten it easily', but I talked him round in a postnatal haze...

HerHonesty · 26/11/2009 20:48

love verity too. i think its a virtue name thing for me..

Sesi · 26/11/2009 20:48

It's a very unattractive name - I would go as far to say awful actually.

Verity, Amity & Honour are much nicer virtue names.

Ivykaty44 · 26/11/2009 20:48

Ideal in this financal climate

JaneiteMightBite · 26/11/2009 20:49

Verity is gorgeous - even nicer than Prudence.

ihaveaheadache · 26/11/2009 21:09

There was a lip gloss by Pout called "Prudish Prudence" so that's all I can think of. Sorry.

this one

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 26/11/2009 21:15

I like it. And all the other virtuous names.

CuppaTeaJanice · 26/11/2009 21:24

It's a bit 'woman in a headscarf with big hips making jam'. Like Audrey, Penelope etc.

hf128219 · 26/11/2009 21:26

I like it. I also like Pleasant.

bellissima · 27/11/2009 09:10

Don't like. Makes me think either of 'prude' or 'prune', neither attractive connotations.
