I wanted something meaningful to when my dc was conceived, do you think absinthe is suitable for a girl or a boy?

Yes, a wonderful choice for either gender. My dd is called Cinammon Aftershock. Congratulations and please let us know when little Absinthe is born.

Littlefish · 20/11/2009 16:08

My next dd will be called Sambucca.

thesockmonsterofdoom · 20/11/2009 16:26

see sambuca is nice for a girl but not great for a boy. Cinammon aftershock sounds likre a stripper name, you aren't really serious are you?

I have a Mojito and a Margarita. Margy for short as we weren't keen on Rita. Thought it was a little old fashioned.

thesockmonsterofdoom · 20/11/2009 16:30

margy and mo, I like that.

My two are WEst Coast Cooler Classic and West Coast cooler Rose

MaggiePie · 20/11/2009 17:09

What about Perry?! Some stuffy people migth think it was short for Peregrine, but only the op would know it was an alcoholic drink. Clever huh?

Jackstini · 20/11/2009 17:09

Lovely. I have a Gewurtztramminer and a Rioja-Reserva myself

EvilTwins · 20/11/2009 17:10

My twins are WooWoo and Cosmopolitan. Problem is, people assume Cosmo is a boy and that we're really posh.

nickelbabe · 20/11/2009 17:12

course, it all sounds a little "chardonnay" for the new year.

Amurula is much more classy, or Bourbon (for a boy)

(but then they might think you'd named it after a (but not that one) and that would just be silly....

GinSlinger · 20/11/2009 17:14

mine's ginette

FritesMenthe · 20/11/2009 17:15

I have a hankering after Bailey (if boy) or Tia Maria (if girl)

dizzydixies · 20/11/2009 17:25

I swear to all things MN and holy that I know someone called Kaluha

mine would have to be called Smice or something equally classy!!!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 20/11/2009 17:32

Oh kaluha is nice (actually could just fancy a glass), adult or child?

bellissima · 20/11/2009 17:38

Cherry B (and brother Perry). Both little duvels...

FritesMenthe · 20/11/2009 17:48

Kaluha & milk...mmmmmm

dizzydixies · 20/11/2009 18:22

she'll be in her 20s now, a friend of my younger cousin

she was called this because her parents had been drinking it the night she was conceived - fortunately for her it wasn't mad dog 2020 or special brew

BellaBear · 20/11/2009 18:25

When i was little I called my doll Tia Maria (seriously) because I thought it sounded beeyooootiful. honestly. couldn't work out why my parents thought it was so funny.

thesockmonsterofdoom · 20/11/2009 18:27

I had a pony called Tico after what my mum was always drinking, I thought it was such a nice word. Still think Absinthe is a good name though. or how about Absolute?

actually DH was desperate to call dd1 Appletina, she was "made in Jamaica" after all.

dizzydixies · 20/11/2009 19:05

my spanish cousins SIL is Maria so my spanish neice calls her Tia Maria you weren't that daft after all BellaBear!!

MaggiePie · 20/11/2009 19:18

Tia Maria is a little disparaging. Silly moo.
