They were
Martha Troy
Bethany Miranda
Anita Carmen (that one was his choice, he fancied Carmen Electra)
and
Joseph Alexander

Found a notebook with them in at my mum's house the other day

norktasticninja · 03/10/2009 22:25

At 17/18 I was going to have an Elizabeth or Isabella and a William (Billy). I didn't get pregnant though, thank goodness!

I still like the names but there's only one I've I'd still use.

hester · 03/10/2009 22:34

I was having Lily and Jacob.

This was a quarter of a century ago, before both names became utterly ubiquitous.

In fact, earlier-procreating friends soon nicked the names off me, probably starting the tidal wave of Jakes and Lilys that then engulfed the UK.

ludog · 03/10/2009 22:42

I was going to have a ds called Tristan and a dd called Demelza.

OliviaMumsnet · 03/10/2009 22:56

ludog I was having a tristan too, and a cordelia
{shock]

notquitenormal · 03/10/2009 23:03

My children were going to be called Dan or Amy.

Someone told me that when you registered a name you had to pay per letter and it cost a pound each.

I remember being horrified at how expensive it was (I was 5-ish) and spent a lot of time worrying how I would be able to afford it.

They would had had to have my surname because it only has four letters. I didn't think I would be able to afford a middle name (and I thought it was why I don't have one.)

DS's name is 9 letters long. His full name is 25 letters long!

Linnet · 03/10/2009 23:15

When I was about 12 my future dd was going to be called Kelsey a name that I loved. When I had met dh and we discussed this, long before getting married, we were going to have a girl called Ellie, and I think the boy name was Ben, not sure about that though. I had two girls and neither of them are Ellie or Kelsey for that matter.

CrankOfTheScrew · 03/10/2009 23:19

I wanted Briar-Rose too! From about 6 'till 15! I still think it's a pretty name.

I then vowed I would call any child Freedom.

Tidey · 03/10/2009 23:24

When I was still in Primary school and a major fan of Neighbours, I wanted a boy and girl and they were to be called

Kylie and Scott or
Charlene and Jason.

One character name and one real name, you see. I thought 'Kylie and Jason' or 'Scott and Charlene' would be a bit much.

Binkster · 04/10/2009 09:49

I was going to have a Rhiannon when I was 18- gone off it a bit now.

I have diaries as a teenager in which I used to write future babies? names! My favourites were Aoife (still like this), Iskandra (from a book I was reading and Luighseah (Lucy!) for girls and Kieran, Patrick (still like this too) and Dylan for boys.

When I was really tiny (4 or 5) I decided my first child would be called Myra Rosa. Don?t like this so much now. Funnily enough, my mum decided on my own name when she was about 10- Luckily my dad agreed when they met 7 years later!

claireybee · 04/10/2009 09:50

PMSL Tidey. A very posh friend of mine called hers Libby and Billy (Elizabeth and William)around when that family were in Neighbours. She was really put out when people asked if they were named after the Neighbours characters.

I was going to have a Yasmin and I went on to have a little girl and I actually called her yasmin!

lljkk · 04/10/2009 09:59

I was going to have Cassandra, Alexandra and (if a boy should dare to make an appearance) David.

I still like those names, but in reality I had 3 boys, and not one of them called David!!

dinkystinkystein · 04/10/2009 20:44

Got to laugh - just told DH about this thread and when he was younger he wanted to call his kids "Apollo and Athena" - that has to win the naff name contest!

katnkittens · 04/10/2009 22:48

I actally had a DS as 16, he got a really nice 'normal top 10' name but if he had been a DD I really wanted her to be Savannah Amber...
I then had a DD at 18 and I REALLY toyed with lots of weird and wonderful names but when it came down to it I just couldn't do it and she is Jessica!
They are 13 and 11 now and I am SO pleased common sense prevailed as I am quite snobby conservative with my name preferences!!

When I was 15 or so my first child was 100% going to be called Shari after a unfortunate character in a point horror novel

MilkNoPoisonPlease · 04/10/2009 23:41

When i was 19/20 mine where going to be

DS-Codey Raleigh (yes like the bike!) robin
DS- Blue keenan rex

DD-Wilnow Gracie Jai
DD-Shadow Bella

have since changed my mind!! but umm i'm only 21 now! cant even pretend it was years ago!

tadjennyp · 04/10/2009 23:59

My dcs middle names are Cordelia and Tristan, I like them!

EverySingleStar · 05/10/2009 09:30

I used to like...

boys

Baylor (now the cat's name )
Canyon
Corbin
Cody
Dante
Rohan (yes like in Lord of the Rings)
Zephyr

I swore to god and jesus and allah at age 17 in my diary that I was going to have a girl called Astrid Aaralyn Antonia... (Aaralyn isn't a typo, it means 'with song')

girls
Cayleese (a made-up name around age 12 I was in love with)
Brynn, Brenna, Brynleigh, et. al
Honor
Elisabeth Dream
Marley
London (I'm American originally )
Paris
Sienna
Venice
cough

EverySingleStar · 05/10/2009 09:31

Oh! And Phoenix for either a girl or boy, and Chandler same

SilentBob · 05/10/2009 11:06

Wehn I was wee, I was determined to have a Jacqueline, Amethyst (shortened to Amy) and Emily. No boys. When I was teenaged, I was having Marley Joe (boy) and Kaya Jordan (girl). Instead, when I was 21, I had a Bethany Jasmine. I still lovelovelove her name.

MeAndMyMonkey · 05/10/2009 11:17

I had a penchant for Damian and Midas (from a Jilly Cooper novel), and loved Clover/Carlotta for girls (still do actually). I had no intention of ever actually having a baby though!

gladders · 05/10/2009 14:53

when i was 15 it was corey, blane and keren (!)
