I just wondered it's a really pretty name.

Lucy85 · 23/07/2010 12:25

Don't get cats and fish. The cats will eat the fish.

NoahAndTheWhale · 23/07/2010 12:25

DS would have been Bethany
DD would have been either William or Alexander I think. She wasn't Bethany as that was the name DS wasn't if that makes any sense.

I would quite have liked Josephine but DH didn't. Or Hermione. Or maybe Persephone.

wigglemama · 23/07/2010 13:17

DS would have been Erin, DD would have been Odhran.

wisteria12 · 23/07/2010 14:16

wigglemama - How do you pronounce Odhran?

Penthesileia · 23/07/2010 14:21

I wanted to call DD Allegra (DH is Italian, so we were looking for an Anglo-Italian name; I was also feeling quite Byronic at that point, LOL).

But it means "cheerful", and DH was worried that DD might not be a cheerful child, and it would be terrible when she visited Italy to have to introduce herself morosely as "Cheerful".

Still think it's a lovely and much underused name.

Anyway, turns out she is cheerful indeed, so it wouldn't have been a bad choice, but

Penthesileia · 23/07/2010 14:22

oops... pressed send too soon...

but the name we chose suits her perfectly, anyhow.

Pasiphae · 23/07/2010 14:41

DD1 would have been Oscar Lando.
DD2 probably Jasper Harold.

teafortwo · 23/07/2010 14:51

If dd was ds I was planning on calling him Brendan because my Mum's boys name was Brendan but she never had a boy to give the name to. I thought it was a nice thing to do.

EVERYONE I tell that to almost faints because they think it is a horrible name... come to think of it though they also nearly faint when I tell them my dd's actual name.

Twirlymum - Skye is a lovely name.

Nappyaddict - SERIOUSLY HOW did you remember all those names....???

Mollydoggerson · 23/07/2010 14:53

If we get a cat I'm calling it Romeo, regardless of gender. I love the name Romeo, despite the Beckham connection! It would sound completely bananas with out surname.

Like Lillyanna for a girl.

nappyaddict · 28/07/2010 13:48

Graeme
Robert
Stewart
Andrew
Kit
Tate
Bobby
Jude

Tabitha

GooseyLoosey · 28/07/2010 13:49

I too would have loved Kit or Rafe (both family names). Oddly, I have no girls names that I lust after.

nappyaddict · 10/08/2010 16:50

I quite like Elsa and Edith.

Lucilastic · 10/08/2010 21:42

I would have loved a little boy called Jude.
It wasn't to be.

petisa · 10/08/2010 22:25

If dd2 was a boy I'd be VERY tempted to call him Arjuna.

ReadingTeaLeaves · 10/08/2010 23:14

For a girl Romilly. For a boy Alban.
But I got a name I adore for DS anyway!

montmartre · 11/08/2010 00:38

Bizarre... I just drafted an answer to this thread... only to realise I posted almost word for word a year ago Shock

Why is this at the top of baby names then? Confused

nappyaddict · 11/08/2010 01:59

I also liked Eden for either gender and Fathom for a girl.

OnEdge · 11/08/2010 02:02

I wanted to call daughter Tiger Lilly but was talked out of it by EVERYONE Grin

SweetnessAndShite · 11/08/2010 02:12

We had Keavy or Ebony picked out for girls. I also really liked Tessa.

Boys names that got vetoed were Sebastian, Xander & Reuben

CheerfulYank · 11/08/2010 02:18

I loved River for a girl when I was younger, also though Indigo was really cool for a boy. And Declan was very big for me, might still use that one though.

I have a Sam...

CheerfulYank · 11/08/2010 02:19

also thought.
