I wanted to call DS2 "Sirius" after the Harry Potter character whom I love but wasn't brave enough. Also wanted to call him Xavier which is one of my all time favourite names but DH didn't like it. We eventually settled on a name that both of us liked well enough but neither of us loved.

bruffin · 24/04/2010 18:36

Sebastian or Tobias

Daisy or Poppy

LynetteScavo · 24/04/2010 18:42

If they were the opposite sex, they would be;

Jasmine
Annastasia /Amelia (I never did decide)
Edward.

If I'd got my own way they would be;

Ross
Oscar
Ruby

If DH has his way we'd have;

James
Charlie
Charlotte

It's funny how your name tastes change, for some reason I'm really relieved I don't have a Jasmine.

Icanseethesea · 24/04/2010 18:45

Edith, definitely. Still love it, dh hates it

DinahRod · 24/04/2010 18:52

Names I secretly like/would have made unfortunate initials:
Tallulah
Susannah
Meredith
Arthur
Albie/Albert

DD should have been Hebe but dh said it gave him the Hebe Jeebies.

Had Charlotte/Lottie on standby for ages but not going to get the chance to use it this time.

CrankyTwanky · 24/04/2010 19:28

I just knew with my first two what sex they would be.
Thought I would with ds2 so we'd chosen Celeste or possibly Mirabelle.

bidibidi · 24/04/2010 19:37

I desperately wanted Raymond for DS2. DH hated it.
I can't believe that people call it a boring old man's name -- how can you get cooler than Ray Charles?

chipmonkey · 24/04/2010 20:15

For the boys
Sebastian, ( vetoed by dh)
Sam for ds1 but I decided he didn't look like a Sam!

For a girl( never had any)
Ella-Rose
Lauren/Laura
Grace

Lyrica
Rose of Sharon ( would never actually dare!)
Galadriel
Pippin
Arwen

NiallOfTheNineHostages · 26/04/2010 17:23

SusieC, I had a doll called Jezebel when I was little. I thought it was beautiful!

drivinmecrazy · 23/07/2010 11:39

Kismett (as in fate and destiny) Loved it. Would have shortened to Kizzy for everyday usage. Am determined the next pet to come into the family will have the name instead

wisteria12 · 23/07/2010 11:54

I got the strange names I wanted - we have Atticus, Algernon and Celeste with Cuthbert on the way.

CreepyFunbags · 23/07/2010 12:04

Fimbo, I love Ailsa. It is my friend's sister's name and I've always thought it was lovely. DH thought we couldn't have it because we aren't Scottish. Poo.

Kathleen123 · 23/07/2010 12:04

Expecting dear child one, at the moment it is Clarissa for a girl and William for a boy.

If my hubbie had completely his own way, it would be Laura for a girl and Callum for a boy.

If I had completely my own way, it would be Eleanor for a girl and Simon for a boy.

My hubbie does not dislike my choices, but has cousins who have used these names for their children, and so doesnt want to. I dont dislike his choices, but have two different friends who have a son called Callum, and a cousin called Laura. Also, my mum strongly dislikes the name Callum.

CreepyFunbags · 23/07/2010 12:06

wisteria12 - Does Celeste get shortened? What to?

wisteria12 · 23/07/2010 12:08

CreepyFunbags - Not really, it's only two syllables after all. Some people call her Lestey, though I'm not sure why.
