I am brave and don't have any kids yet, but if my husband were to have no input towards choosing the name of our imminent baby, it would be Pilot or Clay for a boy and Ladybird for a girl.

For a boy I love Claude, Emile and Clement but I think he'd probably hate me if I called him one of those. I also like Mattia, Giambattista, Jean-Claude and Jean-Baptiste but since we are not Italian or French that would be ridiculous!

I really liked Milo until someone pointed out it was one of the tweenies!

Felix is also the name I would have called a 3rd DS (hence my username!) although didnt have one in the end.

I would have had Benedict for DS2 given half the chance but DH vetoed it. I can blame him so we'll never know if I would have been brave enough.

emerald - yes, I always wanted a Jean-Baptiste! Or Sylvain, Etienne. I'm not French. In RL I wanted Jesse if a boy.

I have two dds. I wanted dd1 to be Melody (I know, I know!!) or Eloise but dp was having none of it. We both liked Miranda and Tess but they didn't go with his surname. If a boy, we were agreed from the start on Laurence Ashley.

DD2 I wanted to be Posey, Scarlett or Harriet but dp didn't like any of them. If a boy we both agreed from the start on Rowan Ashley.

We were convinced they'd both be boys and had no probs at all with boys' names but completely different taste re: girls' names. Both were total compromises.

nappy only Billy. Thats for my DD who was Billie (my DS3 has William in his name for her too).

chegirl I wish I'd have been brave enough to go for an extra middle name, there were so many names I liked it was really hard choosing for DS. I got persuaded it was ridiculous cos apparently the only people who give their children 3 middle names are people who use their maiden name or one of their mum's maiden names as a middle name or where the child is mixed race and the parents have wanted to use names from both cultures. Will definitely ignore those opinions and do it for the next child.

Pablo or Federico, we have absolutely no Spanish connections and nothing Spanish about where we live so knew it would sound too odd. Love Pablo though, and Pablito for a little boy. Sigh.

Really really wanted to call DS Cosmo.

DH wasn't at all keen so I blame him but an not entirely convinced I would have been brave enough He is such an eccentric he would have got away with it.

DD2 was to be Ruby then I had a pph lost gallons of blood and MW commented that Ruby would be wrong as it would remind me of all that red, ruby blood. Nuts but I listened to her in my drug confused state. Doh!
