Old lady

Makes me think of Just William - it was his glamorous elder sister.
But from a purely euphonic point of view, I don't like it.

My grandma was Ethel! Kind of old-fashioned, but those kinda names are coming back into fashion aren't they? Not sure I'd be brave enough though

i am a bit concerned that all these old lady names will make the kids so easily identifiable as having been born in these particular few years....like oh remember in 09 when it was really fashionable to call your child one of those hideous elderly aunt names???

Looking around this board I'm becoming convinced that MN has been invaded by The Society For The Advancement and Preservation Of Incredibly Ugly Names.

its not for me some of these old lady names are gorgeous but some of the ones turning up again are not nice sounding names at all.

Hmmm not too keen on Ethel.

However I do like Edith or Enid.
