Anyone have a son named Jesse?

Run into any teasing?

I'm american and only just found out that Jesse is not very nicely used up north.
We are in London though so don't know if that will really affect us here.

I love the name, but wouldn't want my son to be teased forever more for it.

We wanted this if we had a boy. Think it's a great name but was secretly a bit relieved when had a girl as I just know he would have been the subject of tedious comments. We are oop north though.

I went to University with an American called Randy. That did cause him problems.

We come from SE London and he would get called a big Jesse! If he was small he would just be called a Jesse!

Went out with Western Samoan rugby player once who was called Jesse - liked spanking and spitting water at me during sex - well the one time we did it as didn't go back for seconds! FREAK!!! Sorry mind wandering then!!

We are in SE London. We know two adult Jesse's who have said it has never been a problem for them here.

No plans to move to Scotland OR name him Randy. That's a problem wherever you live.

I do he is 15 and no one has ever saud anything negative about it.there is a pic of him on my profile and jesse suits him

I live in London and ran it past all my friends, I got some peculiar looks to say the least, sorry

Was on short list,family name.Opted for Milo insted
Went better with surname.
I knew a Jesse at school,he works in TV now and was rather fab back in secondary.

By the way dp is from Carlisle and Jesse was a name running through his family

he must be about 15 now... how scary but last I knew they moved to Canada

It was on my shortlist. Would have suited him cos ds3 is an equally cool kid

The hardest boy I knew at a north east comprehensive was called Jesse
never a problem for him

I think it's a great name - I know a Jesse who doesn't seem to have had any trouble with it ... I met one Jesse at a conference once wearing a sticker saying 'Jessie' which might get on your nerves - but I would say go for it, really nice name, unusual but not too unusual.

This has been my favourite boys name since I was young. I think it's gorgeous but sadly DH did not agree. He wanted Jordan (he thought basketball, I thought big knockers..)

I say go for it!

Thanks lockets he is a sweetheart most of the time.he was the only Jesse in his class too so not too many around but also not too wacky

I know an adult Jesse who never had problems with the name, though often it was shortened to Jess. I think its a really great name, unusual without being really 'out there'. Its biblical I think?

I went out with a Jessie years ago...don't think he was affected by it. Know another Jessie now, 5 years old, great kid. The extended family were horrified by the name but they got used to it. I like it.
