Like Edward and Reuben.

Others are cruel quite frankly imo!

PuppyLoves · 24/07/2009 23:19

cruel?

Too common or too trendy.

nigglewiggle · 24/07/2009 23:25

I love Albert - would be name of choice if we had a boy

Edward is a classic name.

Rafferty is very aspirational /of the moment.

Winston is a bit try-hard

Reuben is nice

PuppyLoves · 24/07/2009 23:25

Albert?

pointydog · 24/07/2009 23:25

I'd go for Edward only because I love the nicknames Ed/Eddie. Not keen on Ted

PuppyLoves · 24/07/2009 23:26

Albert? was aimed at Moondogs comment

Edward is a wonderful name. Lots of abbreviations, easy to spell, long and honourable tradition.

Reuben ditto.

Others awful - sorry.

Hulababy · 24/07/2009 23:26

I like Edward, although personally prefer Ned as nn.

I like Albie as a nn for Albert, but not sure on Albert itself.

Chunkamatic · 24/07/2009 23:30

I like Albert (considered this for DS briefly), Edward and Reuben (have a feeling this is rapidly rising up the popularity charts). Think Rafferty is sweet, but don't think of it being a grown up name. Winston is not great - sorry.

moondog · 24/07/2009 23:43

Albert is one of those old fashioned but currently very trendy names. Very much of the present time, which may or may not be a good thing to you.

Without knowing it, we all get caught up in what is of its time. Like clothes or hair. You think maybe your dress is impervious to fashion, but looking back at old pictures, you see it isn't so.

Mumcentreplus · 25/07/2009 00:03

[email protected] like Reuben..prefer Fredrick (freddie)if you want to go grandad

Mammina · 25/07/2009 09:12

Reuben is lovely. Think I like Winston. Prefer Ned to Ted, but not keen on Edward. Don't like Rafferty & like Albie but not Albert

yama · 25/07/2009 09:19

I also (like Migola) like Albie but not Albert.

Not keen on Edward (met too many Eddie's).

Winston for me evokes images of West Indian cricketers so kinda cool.

Like Rafferty - again think it's cool.

Not sure about Reuben. I haven't met any nor am I aware of any famous ones.

Platesmasher · 25/07/2009 09:20

Ted.

Only I'd make it short for Theodore. Although edward is lovely too.

Rafferty is a dog's name.

PuppyLoves · 25/07/2009 10:39

I wouldn't have said Albert was trendy or too commen. Not like Freddy or Alfie.

I am unsure about Rafferty but like afe/Raffa.

I only like Edward and Reuben off that list. Rafferty is a bit try-hard for me. Winston and Albert are OK, just not to my taste.

janeite · 25/07/2009 12:09

I love Edward, although Eddie is dreadful. I love Edmund even more.

I don't really like the others, sorry but Rafferty is best of the bunch.

NormaSknockers · 25/07/2009 13:43

Love Rafferty!

Mumcentreplus · 25/07/2009 17:04

Rafe is cool..but Rafferty just makes me think of Jonty or Tarquin poshtastic!

Issy123 · 25/07/2009 21:13

Not keen on Rafferty or Winston.

Edward is fine but a bit dull.

Really like Reuben and Albert/Albie very cool names.

PuppyLoves · 26/07/2009 20:23

I do so love Albie

OP posts:
rimmer08 · 27/07/2009 19:34

i dont like any of them sorry

LoveBuckets · 27/07/2009 20:58

Rafferty is just too foppish for me, too effeminate, I think it's the last 2 syllables being a bit like confetti.
