Doesn't end in ie/y but what about Vivienne? (tis my name)

Lulubee · 19/07/2009 12:37

Sandrine? Got a friend called that, except everyone nicknames her Sanj which sounds like 'monkey' in French.

Marguerite
Eloise
Josephine
Valerie

My french friend called her daughter Elea (El-ay-a). Quite pretty I thought.

pointydog · 24/07/2009 23:19

is it some sort of joke with these three syllable names?

what's with the syllables

pointydog · 24/07/2009 23:19

Eloise is nice though

pointydog · 24/07/2009 23:20

isn't it magalie, not meggily? And probably old fasioned now

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 24/07/2009 23:30

Has anyone said Claudalie?
I used to know a Ghislaine.

pointydog · 24/07/2009 23:34

probably not since claudalie is not nice

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 24/07/2009 23:52

Why is it not nice? (Just curious - I plucked the name out of thin air).

pointydog · 26/07/2009 10:47

it just doesn't have a nice sound, sounds clumsy to me

elvislives · 26/07/2009 11:25

Doesn't end in y but Elena works in English and French (with the emphasis on the first syllable rather than el- ain - a)

bkkmom · 29/07/2009 15:49

Leonie?
