What do you think of the name Kester (for a boy, obviously)?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
suwoo · 08/07/2009 21:13

I hate to be rude, but it's awful. Sorry.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 08/07/2009 21:14

Tamarto · 08/07/2009 21:14

sazlocks · 08/07/2009 21:14

janeite · 08/07/2009 21:14

I don't like it at all. Sorry.

wuglet · 08/07/2009 21:14

I think it's nice

differentID · 08/07/2009 21:15

I like Kester. There was a Kester in my sisters year at school. Quite a nice kid.

NintyZelda · 08/07/2009 21:15

Sorry, not one for me, have to agree with suwoo

wuglet · 08/07/2009 21:15

and not made up - is a diminutive of Christopher

(I only know this from Chalet School books!)

differentID · 08/07/2009 21:15

Kester is an old English version of Christopher.

EachPeachPearMum · 08/07/2009 21:16

Love, love LOVE it! but DH vetoed...

It is not made up...

ShortButNotSweet · 08/07/2009 21:20

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 08/07/2009 21:20

Dreadful.

janeite · 08/07/2009 21:22

Somebody suggested Kit a few days ago, as a shortening of Christopher. I like that much more.

Sorry EachPeach!

HumphreyCobbler · 08/07/2009 21:32

I know it from the Chalet school books too. There are loads of us obsessives out there...

I think it is quite nice actually.

Bonneville · 08/07/2009 21:39

Awful name. Sounds made-up.
Made me think immediately of uncle Fester.

worley · 08/07/2009 21:54

ditto bonneville, what i was going to write but she had already said it!

ravenAK · 08/07/2009 21:59

There's a rather creepy & manipulative Kester (based on Richard II) in a quite good Susan Howatch novel - that'd put me off.

Christopher with Kit for short?

MrsEricBana · 08/07/2009 22:08

Yup me too re Uncle Fester - as soon as I read title I thought of Adams Family - sorry. Love Kit.

limonchik · 08/07/2009 22:11

I really like it!

SlartyBartFast · 08/07/2009 22:13

nope

duchesse · 08/07/2009 22:20

It's not made up, it's Old Testament.

fwiw I know a 9 yr old called this. He keeps his hair very long and is very often mistaken for a girl because nobody has ever heard of the name before.

BayeauxT · 09/07/2009 09:31

I knew a Kester at school - like it much!

missmem · 09/07/2009 09:33

Truly awful

harpsichordcarrier · 09/07/2009 09:33

I think it is lovely
mainly because as a child I was in love with Kester Woodseaves the weaver from Precious Bane
