In DD's school Alexandra, Hannah and various Millie/Milly seem popular.

In the school I work at (infants) there are lot of children with the same names - mainly asian names. Amia very popular.

Ok, boys:

Matthew - hundreds of them
Thomas - again hundreds of them
Ben - yup, hundreds of them
Sam - you know what I'm going to say ...
Jamie - is this getting predictable ...

Then a good few
Ryan
Oliver
Keiron
and
Adam

Girls:

Lots of girls named
Ellie
Ella
Isabelle
Abbie/Abigail
Chloe (although this is amongst the juniors, not so much the infacts)
Megan (again the older girls')

There seems to be more variation amongst girls then boys ...

I wouldn't have a clue what the kids names are. I know maybe a dozen by sight and even then I can't guarantee I'll get the right name. And match child to parent? pah.

Amazes me when people actually know the names of every child in the class / school.

Report
Wallace · 07/07/2009 08:02

I can honestly say I know the name of every child in my children's school. And the names of their brothers and sisters. And for most of them their parents' names and where they live. I probably even know the birthdates of at least at third of them...

Yes, it is a very small school - less than 60 pupils including nursery.

Report
HecatesTwopenceworth · 07/07/2009 08:05

really? My boys school is small too. 80odd pupils maybe.

I wouldn't know them if I fell over them

ds1 however, bless his obsessive little heart knows every single child's first and last name, siblings and parents names and if they've got a car, he knows which one it is! I rely heavily on him to tell me who is who, so I can say hi!
