LaDiDaDi · 06/07/2009 10:49

I like it.

MamaLazarou · 06/07/2009 10:50

It's lovely. No more old-ladyish than the ubiquitous Lily or May.

Lizzzombie · 06/07/2009 10:50

I love it.
I know of 2 recent baby girls; Sylvie & Ivy and I love those names too.

OracleInaCoracle · 06/07/2009 10:53

i like it. love ivy and violet too.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/07/2009 11:08

I like it.

McDreamy · 06/07/2009 11:12

It's lovely, very pretty

diedandgonetodevon · 06/07/2009 11:13

No, it's lovely. I met a six week old Elsie recently and thought at the time what a good choice of name.

gagamama · 06/07/2009 11:23

It's lovely, especially as there's a good family connection on both sides. Elseba is gorgeous, too (but this is the woman who wanted to call her DD Elphaba... vetoed by, well, everyone with a brain, really).

Scorpette · 06/07/2009 11:26

Elsie is great. I'm all for cool old-lady names. And what a lovely way to honour both your Grans

bundle · 06/07/2009 11:27

it's divine

kando · 06/07/2009 11:30

Love it!!! [dd3 is Elizabeth and I wanted to shorten it to Elsie, but she decided on Betty!] Go for it!

gorionine · 06/07/2009 11:34

Elsie is a fantastic name. Actually, if We had not decided that our dcs would have arabic names that would be Dd1's name! It reminds me of "Fairy tale a true story".

Ladyem · 06/07/2009 11:36

I love that name!! Friends of ours just names their DD Elsie and I though at the time, what a cool name!!! Go for it!

SparkyMalarky · 06/07/2009 11:36

Love it

tothesea · 06/07/2009 11:37

I love it too! Also really like Elsa. If I ever have a little girl [hopeful emoticon] she will either be Elsa or Sylvie.

seeker · 06/07/2009 11:38

I like it too but had you thought about Elsa shortened to Elsie? It's just a bit more formal sounding in case she needs it when she's grown up.

jeee · 06/07/2009 11:39

Like the name - but it does sound like someone from the Chalet School - which may or may not be a good thing.

preggersplayspop · 06/07/2009 12:06

I also like Elsa shortened to Elsie, and I like it even more knowing it has a family connection (I'm like that, me).

fucksticks · 06/07/2009 12:09

Love it. much nicer than a lot of the other old names imo

gladders · 06/07/2009 12:13

Firawla · 06/07/2009 13:03

Alot of the "old" names are being used these days,I think Elsie is nice and would be fine.

Pingpong · 06/07/2009 13:12

I like it and Elsa too

grubbywitch · 06/07/2009 13:14
