What do you think? Obviously for a boy. Have 2 dc already, with Irish surnames beginning with B, and thought that Carson would fit in nicely.

Castiel · 11/06/2009 20:32

I was talking to someone the other day who had considered it. Its one of those names that would grow on me.

I don't love it but I don't dislike it either.

gerontius · 11/06/2009 20:36

No.

Wigglesworth · 11/06/2009 20:43

As in comedian Frank Carson, good lord NO.

Mummyisamonster · 11/06/2009 20:43

No. No. No.
Wasn't the camp guy from one of the those American make-over progs called Carson?

dizzydixies · 11/06/2009 20:50

I knew a bloke at uni called Carson. It doesn't offend me as it seems to have offended the others but I just feel there are nicer names out there iykwim?

on the other hand if your other kids both have Irish surnames for names (or did I pick that up completely wrong) it would go well and be in keeping with the other names

my FAV name from Ireland is Tadgh - I love it

janeite · 11/06/2009 20:53

I don't like it at all, sorry.

cookie100 · 11/06/2009 21:06

Me neither, don't like it.

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 21:06

it's fine... not feeling love nor hate tbh

EachPeachPearMum · 11/06/2009 21:15

Karsten is nicer...

poshtottie · 11/06/2009 21:20

mummyisamonster, yes, I knew I had heared it before. Queer eye for the straight guy was the programme. I loved Carson.

womma · 11/06/2009 22:53

sonniboo · 12/06/2009 10:42

I like Carsten (Germanic name)!

screamingabdab · 12/06/2009 20:25

No way (sorry)

But then I don't normally like surname names, with a few exceptions

Any other ideas?

SoupDragon · 12/06/2009 20:27

It has arse in the middle.

barnsleybelle · 12/06/2009 20:27

Don't like it. Colm is a nice Irish name beginning with C..

screamingabdab · 12/06/2009 20:38

Caolan ?

starmucks · 12/06/2009 20:48

Not sure about Carson. What about Callahan? Can be Cal for short.

janeite · 13/06/2009 22:23

Sorry, don't like Carson.

And Callahan is awful imho - sounds like Caliban.

jkklpu · 13/06/2009 22:31

If the others are Irish names, why not Ciaran, Cathal or Connor, if you want a C name. Or Calum if you want some Scottish variation. Or Eamonn, Ronan, Finbarr/Fionnbharr or Dara for some other letters?
