onthepier · 19/05/2009 23:02

Lovely name, suits a baby, child and adult in my opinion!

sockmonster · 20/05/2009 06:48

polly put the kettle on..... polly..filler, polly the parrot...

Tortington · 20/05/2009 06:57

its really nice - but would you realy start your kids life off giving her a nick name that is going to haunt her throughout her school days

whilst i realise the consensus is that kids will pick n anything

my feeling is we dont make it easy by giving our children names synonimous with a famous nursery rhyme, crack filler and a parrot!

Tortington · 20/05/2009 06:58

it can be used for any manner of prefix meaning 'many' please think about that

mwff · 20/05/2009 07:32

my association would be the nirvana song, which isn't exactly a barrel of laughs.

noddyholder · 20/05/2009 08:38

dinkymum · 20/05/2009 08:56

hatwoman · 20/05/2009 09:04

had an immediate "love it" response. really nice - pretty, different, but can take a serious job (Polly Toynbee - who was actually born Mary apparently)

Twims · 20/05/2009 09:05

Fab

KathyBrown · 20/05/2009 09:35

Parrot springs to mind

EffieGadsby · 20/05/2009 10:09

Love it too. It's in my top few names for Gadsbaby.

oysterpots · 20/05/2009 10:22

Really nice - kids pick on anything, definitely not a reason to choose a dreary name in favour of something nice!

jasper · 20/05/2009 10:22

very cute

boodleboot · 20/05/2009 11:43

good comments in general.....it seems to stand out amongst the sea of molly's, rosie's and ellie's (which i love incidently, having a ten yr old one myself...) yet still have the same sort of vibe if you know what i mean....

I really like it. We have a couple of friends called Polly and they are all very different and all carry it well (if that makes sense).

MrsMattie · 21/05/2009 08:21

Really like it. Was ion my list of names for DD but DH vetoed it. It makes me think of PJ Harvey (is that a good thing? ). Lovely name.
