I know you are all very honset.
I find out tomorrow if I'm pregnant again and I was just thinking about names. (I know this is a tad early).

I like: Amelia (milly)- meaning work of the lord

Tabitha - meaning beauty, grace or gazel

Katherine (Katy) - meaning pure

Ophelia - meaning helper

Talitha (Tally) - Biblical, meaning little girl

Merryn - a Cornish name, meaning unknown

Seren - meaning star

Tallis - meaning woods

So what do you think? I want something not too ordinary, but has stood the test of time.

Thank you. I love your honsety, that's why I always run it through MN.
I guess Ophelia is a bit poncey.
I like Tallis more as a middle name.

Amelia (milly) like that but lots of them around atm

Tabitha lovely

Katherine (Katy) - lovely but prefer Catherine

Ophelia "Ophelia Buttox" and "Fifi" - NO!

Talitha (Tally) not as nice as the others

Merryn - sounds masculine

Seren - lovely, nicest one imo

Tallis - again, sounds masculine don't know if that's an issue for you

Heated · 27/04/2009 21:15

I like Merryn nn Merry and Amelia nn Millie, and think they go v well with Lucy.

I can pick holes in the rest!

You decided you're not having a boy then? Or is that name all decided?

GossipMonger · 27/04/2009 21:15

I see Mervyn when I see Merryn.

ilikeyoursleeves · 27/04/2009 21:16

Gosh no, I don't want a masculine sounding name.

My Mum likes Merryn, I was undecided. Now I'm not.

That's OK Stillenacht - I wont take offense at your active dislike of my girl names! I have 2 boys and will be producing no more!!

(Ive had the implant put in! )

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 27/04/2009 21:21

Love Tabitha, Talitha, Seren and Ophelia.

All lovely names

19fran76 · 27/04/2009 21:21

Don't like Milly at all (agree with the tweeness accusation), though overall I think your list is lovely. Talitha & Seren are my favourites because they are unusual & sound pretty & poetic. I like Ophelia very much but just can't shake the insanity associations, so for that reason, no. Tallis, Katherine & Merryn are o.k. but don't have immediate appeal to me. Tabitha is a good name too. Hope that your news is happy news. Keep dreaming.

Hulababy · 27/04/2009 21:21

Amelia (milly)- pretty; quite popular if that bothers you

Tabitha - not keen sorry

Katherine (Katy) - classical name, prefer Katie to Katy

Ophelia - not keen

Talitha (Tally) - cute nn, not sure on the name though

Merryn -too harsh sounding for me

Seren - quite nice, but not really my choice

Tallis - not sure

mummyloveslucy · 27/04/2009 21:22

Our surname is Baker, If that helps.

helsbels4 · 27/04/2009 21:24

Seren is beautiful!!! I like unusual names though

Milly is lovely and Merryn is unusual but pretty.

Seren - meaning star - is definitely my favourite

mummyloveslucy · 27/04/2009 21:27

Thank you. Seren does have a fab meaning.
