as in the continent?

odd I say

SouthernMeerkat · 08/04/2009 16:03

I would think major Narnia freak...and a bit 'celebrity try hard' tbh.

rubyslippers · 08/04/2009 16:04

as in The Lion, The Witch and the wardrobe

i say Nay ...

LetThemEatCake · 08/04/2009 16:04

not Asian

ASLAN

Turkish for Lion. Also the name of the Great Lion in the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis

No

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 08/04/2009 16:04

No

What's to discuss?

It's a bold and fabulous choice I think.

But I'm weird.

maamajullah · 08/04/2009 16:09

I love it. Might use it if i have another son.

LetThemEatCake · 08/04/2009 16:09

It does go rather well with Phoenix and Cassian doesn't it.

Aslan.

Aslan.

Hmmm.

I have read those Naria books about 75 times since the age of 10. At least I'm not suggesting Reepicheep.

hmc · 08/04/2009 16:13

Awful

EachPeachPearMum · 08/04/2009 16:13

I know plenty called Arsalan

hmc · 08/04/2009 16:14

Pregnancy does strange things to you, for a while when pregnant with dd I toyed with calling her Celeste

redrobin · 08/04/2009 16:14

it is appalling. its a LION who represents Christ ffs. Caspian maybe.

rubyslippers · 08/04/2009 16:15

Not sure about Caspian, but Casper is a brilliant name IMHO

Don't be naughty, LetTheEatCake - you know people will rise and someone will actually do it and it will BE ALL YOUR FAULT!

midnightexpress · 08/04/2009 16:16

nononononononono.

NO.

Hulababy · 08/04/2009 16:17

Not for me, sorry.

LetThemEatCake · 08/04/2009 16:21

But it's an actual NAME. A turkish name, meaning Lion. That's why CS Leiws called his lion Aslan, so it wouldn't be like naming your child after Christ/ an imaginary Lion whatever.

And even if it were, how is it any different from Jesus?? hey? hey??

OP posts:
KayHarker · 08/04/2009 16:21

Well, I love Narnia as much as the next CS Lewis fan, and there are definitely names from the books I'd use, but not Aslan. Or Shasta. Or Peepicheek. Or Trumpkin.

Aravis is nice for a girl, though.

I tried to think of a name that nobody would like to start a thread with - Roger. But people liked it. That was when I decided to jump off a cliff.

Cliff...now there's a name you don't hear much these days......

Jojay · 08/04/2009 16:27

No. Too liony. ROOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR

MarshaBrady · 08/04/2009 16:30

Well it fit with your other names, one being close to the Prince Caspian.. so yeah do it.

As for Cliff etc, perhaps Norman?..

MarshaBrady · 08/04/2009 16:31

does
