Breaking Bad, Walter Mitty.

Tinkerisdead · 29/06/2012 00:53

Great uncle walter.

MarkGruffalo · 29/06/2012 00:56

Mitty

And an apalling role for Bruce Willis in some godforsaken Blake edwards 'comedy' with Kim Basinger

PercyFilth · 29/06/2012 01:08

Walter Swinburn the jockey (aka The Choirboy :o)

It was my granddad's name too - I really like it. I also think of the Sir Walters and the poet.

One more that I don't think has been mentioned. Wally de Backer aka Gotye (Gotye being a play on Gautier which is the French version of Walter).

scaredycat12 · 29/06/2012 01:10

Mitty - followed shortly by 'that's cruel'

mumbaisapphire · 29/06/2012 01:11

An old American man-wealthy,aged banker sort.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 29/06/2012 01:17

Dennis the menace

blackcurrants · 29/06/2012 01:44

"Wally"

"Oh god no, you couldn't do that to your son, whom you LOVE!"

Blush sorry OP - my very first two thoughts!

Lannie33 · 29/06/2012 01:54

old nerdy man

Outnumbered4to1 · 29/06/2012 02:12

The guy from breaking bad (chemist gone bad)

zombie thread

lisaro · 29/06/2012 07:20

Scrofulous tramp or scruffy paedophile looking man sat at his computer fiddling (I know, but that's honestly what came to mind).

IawnCont · 29/06/2012 09:03

Walter the softy.

karatekimmi · 29/06/2012 09:05

Kronkite ( the newsreader who annoced that JFK had been shot)

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 29/06/2012 09:10

The Softie

NotGeoffVader · 29/06/2012 10:33

Walter Gabriel - old man from the Archers which I was forced to listen to during my childhood.

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 29/06/2012 10:38

wally

Olive28 · 29/06/2012 13:15

Scott

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 29/06/2012 13:19

the Beano

PrincessLayercake · 29/06/2012 13:22

Sickhert, the turn of the century painter that some people think was Jack the Ripper.

(sorry!)

StillSquiffy · 29/06/2012 13:22

Sad skinny geeky American with Brown slacks, patterned shoes and probably not many friends (sort of a bit like Woody Allen on a bad day).

HTH, that's the vision that name conjures up for me. Please don't use it as a first name. He'd be destined to be a friendless librarian if you do.

recall · 29/06/2012 13:22

softy - Beano

Iheartpasties · 29/06/2012 13:24

surely this child was named three years ago now?

Olive28 · 29/06/2012 13:24

I don't think associations should make that much difference really. The first thing that come into your head when you think of the name Anne may be Widdicombe or Princess, but once you meet another Anne who is a relative or becomes a friend, the others pale into insignificance and you don't think about them.

Posey · 29/06/2012 13:25

Wonder if the OP called her child Walter or not....she asked our opinion over 3 years ago Grin
