There was a Lucinda in my class at school. Very brainy.

fryalot · 10/03/2009 18:44

hmm... p'raps a bit la-di-dah

but I love it

ScorpiowithabigS · 10/03/2009 18:44

Not for me.

squeaver · 10/03/2009 18:45

Tis a bit posh.

MargaretMountford · 10/03/2009 18:46

it's pretty !

ramonaquimby · 10/03/2009 18:46

was lucinda in last year's apprentice

Littlefish · 10/03/2009 18:48

There are lots of Lucys around at the moment. Would you keep it as Lucinda, or shorten it?

kayzr · 10/03/2009 18:50

I'm not to keen on Lucy and I don't like shortening names. I don't see the point of calling a child Lucinda if she will be known as Lucy from day 1.

Squeaver, the mum did say "Lucinda where are Sophia and Lilia/Lillia?" The reason DH gave was that it sounded posh.

I do like it, but it's too precious for one of my children! Many names that were considered posh 30 yrs ago aren't now, but Lucinda is still clinging on to its poshness

I like Lindy though. And lucy. And Lucia, so it's versatile. If you hae money for school fees go right ahead!

MrsMattie · 10/03/2009 19:21

Not keen, sorry. Lucy is too cutesy, as well.

kayzr · 10/03/2009 19:22

We don't have the money for school fees.

I think my boys names Freddie and Dylan aren't very posh, though some people think they are. SO for some reason I think if we have a DD I want to give her a big posh fancy name[wierdo smiley]

I went to school with a Lucinda (wno had the wonderful surname of Kalinski - I always thought her name was fab said in full ).

Anyhow, she wasn't posh and I do like the name.

gegs73 · 10/03/2009 19:23

I know a Lucinda. She is quite a cool/trendy type of person and not posh at all. I quite like it.

MsBeauregarde · 10/03/2009 19:24

Octavia, Hebe, Iseult, Honor, Clementine. All posh with bells. not sure I would pick any of them though. Honor would be a lovely middle name.

kayzr · 10/03/2009 19:27

Her middle name will be Jean as it is like a family tradition. It was my great great great grandmothers name and then every girl has had it as their middle name.

I went to school with a Lucinda, known as Cindy. She was as rough as a*rses!

Lucinda Prior-Palmer was a super posh horse riding type in the early 80s.

tattycoram · 10/03/2009 20:12

I love Honor. Wouldn't do it though.

NorbertDentressangle · 10/03/2009 20:16

hmmm....not for me. Sounds a bit horsey.

dinkymum · 10/03/2009 20:17

really like it!

2Helenback · 11/03/2009 10:14
