Would like some opinions on

Vaughan/Vaughn
Orson
Verne
Edward
Samuel
Gregory
Monty
Mungo
Edgar
Edmund

None of these are a definite for the short list (well DH thnks one is...) so give me the worst...

dizzydixies · 07/03/2009 21:45

sorry, its not really to my taste

dizzydixies · 07/03/2009 21:45

but only by association, nothing about the name offends me, just someone I know who had it

apologies again

cece · 07/03/2009 21:46

Sadly that seems to be the general reaction of the few people I have told... Including DH...

sorry shall have another think about it

I just can't get the 3 I knew out of my head but they were all Gregors so it shouldn't count

cece · 07/03/2009 21:50

I also found Vaughan in the baby name book yesterday and thought it was OK.

don't get to hung up on the top 50 thing, as it is inevitable that whatever you choose will be next years Jack!

noonki · 07/03/2009 21:51

Forgot to say I like samuel, and Orson (not mungo please don't do it to them)

cece · 07/03/2009 21:52

Yes that is what happened with DDs name. There are loads of them aorund here now (all younger) but when we named her everyone aske dif we ahd made it up as it was so unusual.

Not Verne - it sounds like a moronic thug bouncer type.

Quite like Vaughn though

dizzydixies · 07/03/2009 21:55

Dexter
Phillip nn Pip
Felix
Patrick nn Patch
Harrison
Dominic
Joel
Nathan
Timothy
Henry
Duncan
Daniel
George

and agree with noonki, I've apparently given DD1 one of the most popular girls names without realising, tried to pick a more unusual one for DD2 and there will be 3 of this in her year at high school

pick one you love as you'll have to shout use it every day

NorktasticNinja · 07/03/2009 21:56

How about Cassius?

dizzydixies · 07/03/2009 21:58

Caleb
Frank
Gareth
Aidan

dizzydixies · 07/03/2009 22:01

Heath?

MummyAnnabella · 07/03/2009 22:01

like edward best - it seems to be getting most votes? not a fan of gregory.

cece · 07/03/2009 22:02

ummm we had thought about Daniel shortened to Danny or Dan but there are loads of them around here.

cece · 07/03/2009 22:03

Well I think Edward is on the shortlist then When we had DS weonly had one name on our shortlist so .... His name was a compromise btu I love it now.

dizzydixies · 07/03/2009 22:04

cece · 07/03/2009 22:08

lockets! don't know what you mean

Orson reminds me of Mork and Mindy though

MerryMarigold · 07/03/2009 22:13

I really like Greg (before I saw it was your fav)! They're always nice guys and quite ruggedly good looking.

I had a soft spot for Tex at one point, had all romantic notions of cowboy boots and spurs lol

Merrymarigold - you've obviously not met the 3 I knew!!!

cece · 07/03/2009 22:16
