CAN'T think of a girls name. Have a Beatrice already. Wish I was having a boy, I have just three boys names and I love them all. Have no girls names that are absolute must haves. Our surname is a single syllable, rhymes with Toad (!).
(Have bad cold, want to decide in next week or two, due March, DD1 didn't have a name for ages and want to avoid that, so really really need help).
Can anyone look at the following list and suggest similar alternatives, or give opinions on any of the names?

Was thinking of:
Ottilie (but suddenly seems to be becoming alarmingly popular!)
Variations on Rose - Rose itself, or Rosamund, Rosalie, Rosanna, Rosie
Daisy
Vivi
Poppy
Milly
Camilla (too royal now? always liked it because of Camellias)
Florence
Lottie
Cleo
Clemmie
Maggie
Ella (but there are thousands...)
Bella
Christabel (Bella)
Dora (but now too associated with 'the Explorer'?)
Lola
Tallulah (Tallie) ?!
Honor
Xanthe (too Greek?)

I love

Ottilie
Rosa
Camilla
Maggie

from your list.

My favourite that I won't be using especially as I think DC4 is a boy is Betsy. I love Betsy.

Sorry haven't read entire thread but I think a three-syllable name would go well with your surname

So how about

Eleanor?

love Jemima and Clementine (as previously mentioned) and Ottilie too

Countingthegreyhairs · 05/03/2009 20:07

oh and meant to add

Verity

slowreadingprogress · 05/03/2009 21:04

Well, she arrived early and caught us all out! So she has been here nearly a week and I think we have finally decided that she IS called Ottilie.
Now we just have to decide on the spelling because there are a few out there...
so, any opinions on:

Ottilie

Ottily

Ottalie

??

Shakespeare put Rosalind with Beatrice[welcome to Ottilie]

cupofteaplease · 31/03/2009 07:46

You may have already had the baby by now (if so, congratulations!), but if not, how about Viviana? It is the Italian version of Vivienne, and the nn is pronounced Veevee. I knew a lovely Italian lady named Vivi- she was great!

Beesmummy · 31/03/2009 22:16

thank you, she arrived early and we have gone with Ottilie! Viviana so pretty tho and I still LOVE Vivi... maybe next time!

weepootle · 01/04/2009 17:44

Florence is one of my favourite names at the moment, it goes very nicely with Beatrice.

weepootle · 01/04/2009 17:45

Oops, too late as well .

JulesJules · 01/04/2009 17:53

I was going to say stick with Ottilie, it's lovely! Congratulations!

thehairybabysmum · 01/04/2009 17:58

Just was about to post saying for gawds sake dont go with Florence!! I know its v fashionable currently, but take it form someone who spent her entire college years called Flo that this is what anyone called florence will be called by everyone else (and its only my middle name). Not quite so pretty me thinks!!

Congratulations and Otillie is lovely, though i also leke the otalie spelling.

Trampoline · 02/12/2009 23:31

Beesmummy and Hedgiemum - I'm just reading these old posts of lists of names, and I'm intrigued to know which names you finally chose???
