Can you share girls names ending with an E sound...so Y or IE??
Our DD needs a name and we're not doing very well in coming up with one We can't keep calling her baby or little sister....

Travis and Hovis??

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 22:33

Travis and Hayley

screamingabdab · 26/02/2009 22:35

Looks like it's just you and me, dizzy!

Dawnus · 26/02/2009 22:37

NO Not starting again cos we have no intention of calling her anything that begins with a 'H' now, sounds too cruel!!

Anyway, I have just been upstairs to ask DS what he thinks about Maisie for his little sister (as he was going to the loo!) and he agreed that it was a very lovely name and he approves!

So it is Maisie
Maisy
Maisey

and middle Grace
?
?

Well done, Dawnus, it has been lovely to share this with you, congratulations again to you and your family.

Hope you get some decent sleep tonight xx

(Bit disappointed you didn't choose Mavis though)

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 22:42

Maisy Grace lovely, well done

and not to be rude about it but in terms of MN naming experts you can't get better than me, sweetkitty and lockets

4andnotout · 26/02/2009 22:43

I have a Maisy-Rae and a Tilly-Grace so Miasy Grace sounds great to me

sweetkitty · 26/02/2009 22:44

DD2's name mentioned on here

DD3's name mentioned loads of times and Grace is one of her middle names

You all have taste

plonker · 26/02/2009 22:45

Maisie Grace is lovely!

Makes me think of Macy Grey but thats not necessarily a bad thing

sweetkitty · 26/02/2009 22:46

Have you "tried" her name out on her yet? Called her it, does she look like a Maisy.

Congratulations BTW you lucky thing, I love newborns.

Dawnus · 26/02/2009 22:46

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/02/2009 08:46

Maisy Grace is lovely...

Naming by committee - I like it

WinkyWinkola · 27/02/2009 09:06

Not Maisie Grace?

SoupDragon · 27/02/2009 09:06

LOL Maisy Grace is a lovely name.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall when she asks how you came up with her name "well, we couldn't decide so we asked a bunch of imaginary people on the internet, who may have been mothers but could equally have been hairy handed truckers, and they came up with it..."

PottyCock · 27/02/2009 09:08

Maisie Grace - v nice!

Lilyloo · 27/02/2009 16:14

Aww Maisy Grace lovely and secretly chuffed it was on my list of names

TigerFeet · 27/02/2009 16:18

Lovely but I'd spell it Maisie Grace

mckenzie · 27/02/2009 21:43

sorry but I am going to take most of the credit for this as I was the first one to suggest Maisie back at the beginning .
Congratulations on your baby and your choice or name!

cikecaka · 27/02/2009 21:53

Welcome Maisy Grace, a true mn baby

suwoo · 27/02/2009 22:00

Maisie is the correct spelling. Sorry, I know its only MO, but I must offer it.

alardi · 27/02/2009 22:28

Maisy is listed as a valid alternate spelling on most baby name websites.
Funny I can't come up with a consistent meaning/origin of it.

It could be a diminuative of
Margaret, Mairead, or Marjorie.

It could mean
Pearl, or Child of Light

It could be
English, Scottish or Gaelic.
