Haha how funny - Jayden is my favourite and I'd never even considered it to be chavtastic - but by the overwhelming replies - I think it might be.

I wanted something a bit simple but different but I think he's gonna be Luke if I'm honest...

Am amazed that everyone thinks Jayden is a white chav name.

It's quite a popular black boys name round here!

magicfarawaytree · 08/02/2009 18:20

I like luke - I think jayen is fine, Oliver just a little dull, but nice. I would not worry about the 'chav' label. even in 1, 2 or even 3 years no one is going to say 'Jayden that was a real chav name in 2007/8/9'. One 'friend' made laugh with her 'that sound a bit council' comment about one of the potential names for dd2. Funny as her daughters name is Isobel - I believe a very popular in polls. Given that, I did wonder how many 'Isobels' there were on council estates that she found so offensive....

Oliver

muffle · 09/02/2009 17:33

Weirdly Luke - though it used to be super-popular, it now seems the least over-used of the three - and I know a lovely grown-up Luke too which helps.

Can't stand Jayden. Don't do it! Oliver - it's OK, but there seem to be Ollies everywhere atm.

MrsBoo · 09/02/2009 17:33

Luke, not Oliver (too popular/common now)

noddyholder · 09/02/2009 17:37

oliver

MrsSeanBeanIsEmployable · 09/02/2009 17:39

Not Jayden! (sorry).

ADealingMummy · 09/02/2009 17:44

I like Jayden, but then I quite like ''Americany'' names.
Oliver is a solid, classical name, but lots of them about.
Not into the name Luke.

SoupDragon · 09/02/2009 17:45

Anything but Jayden.

atowncalledalice · 09/02/2009 17:54

Oliver, definitely. Luke is all right. Jayden is hideous.

WorzselMummage · 09/02/2009 17:59

Absolutly agree with anyone who says Not Jayden.

Of the other 2 i prefer Oliver but would use use Luke as less popular.

Madmentalbint · 09/02/2009 18:31

Not Jayden
Luke is okay
Like Oliver

lljkk · 09/02/2009 18:33

I like Jayden best on your list (by a mile). Others are ok.

nkf · 09/02/2009 18:35

Oliver lovely.
Luke okay.
Jayden, well, I think you've been told...

Peachy · 09/02/2009 18:36

Oliver

Peachy · 09/02/2009 18:38

Oh I don't really mind Jayden, not a choice of mine but not that awful- and I know a 6 year old Jayden btw so not that new.

2Helenback · 09/02/2009 19:59

I am finding boys' names quite difficult as I teach and have met a lot of boys I don't want to associate with my own child. I have memories of a variety of fairly inoffensive Lukes and Olivers, but only one Jayden. In my mind he will always be a big, sullen, pizza-faced chav with an Asbo.

Jayden is the new Jordan.

Sorry, and apologies to anyone with lads of either name.

lunamoon2 · 09/02/2009 21:54

Oliver gets my vote.
