Luke

there are so many Olivers.

seeker · 08/02/2009 11:18

Oliver or Luke.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 08/02/2009 11:20

Jayden is awful, sounds like a made-up name for an American girl on Judge Judy

Luke nice and traditional, Oliver good too.

treacletart · 08/02/2009 11:30

I have an Oliver- despite its supposed popularity we've come across very few and he's never had another in any of his classes - he's thrilled if he ever meets one! Now Oscar on the other hand - his runner up name my dad thought oh so whacky - they're 2 a penny round here!

myalias · 08/02/2009 11:33

Oliver
Jayden is too girley

violethill · 08/02/2009 11:36

I like Oliver best, though it's become too popular.
Luke comes a close second.

Jayden - horrible, chavvy, artificial name.

2pt4kids · 08/02/2009 11:38

Love Oliver (I have one)
Luke is nice
Jayden is horrible

bluebump · 08/02/2009 11:38

Luke

differentCupID · 08/02/2009 11:39

Luke or Oliver- never ever ever go with Jayden.

edam · 08/02/2009 11:40

Oliver.

No idea where 'Jayden' has sprung from, didn't exist AFAIK until very recently.

Flightattendant12 · 08/02/2009 11:41

Oliver is my favourite out of those.

Niecie · 08/02/2009 11:41

Oliver and Luke. Both were on my list so love 'em. Classics

Not Jayden - too girly, too modern. No.

Wolfcub · 08/02/2009 11:42

Oliver

ScoobyDoo · 08/02/2009 11:42

Oliver i like best but also like Luke...

hippipotamiHasLostTwoPounds · 08/02/2009 11:42

I have an Oliver. He is 9.
In his yeargroup at school (large school so 90 children per year) he has never ever come across another Oliver. In fact, in the whole school of 300 children there are only 2 Olivers.
In all his out of school drama clubs, Beavers then Cubs, swimming lessons etc, we have never come across another Oliver.

We come across far more boys called Luke (at ds's school there are 12 out of 300 children)

And as for Jayden, very artificial, a bit rough and a bit 'chavvy' (sorry, not sure how else to describe it)

piscesmoon · 08/02/2009 11:43

Oliver or Luke. Jayden is horrible (+I thought it was a girl's name).

Flightattendant12 · 08/02/2009 11:43

Yes Edam I wonder where it came from? Was it a made up name?

I know loads of people with sons called Lee-Jay or Lee-James as well. That puzzles me. It must be fashionable I think.

GossipMonger · 08/02/2009 11:45

Jayden is a form of Jaden which is Biblical and means 'Jehovah has heard.'

janeite · 08/02/2009 11:50

Am very surprised to see Luke described as "chavvy".

MmeLindt · 08/02/2009 11:51

Isn't Steffi Graf's son Jayden?

artichokes · 08/02/2009 11:54

Oliver = lovely
Luke = fine, but I prefer Lucas.
Jayden = horrible. I will get flamed for using this term but its chav-tastic.

DontSwimInTheLiffey · 08/02/2009 11:55

Jayden - no. Will date him. This was trendy about 5 yrs ago. V popular in America. Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi's child is called this.
Oliver - ok, classic, bit feminine.
Luke - yes. Choose Luke.

He wil hate you forever if you saddle him with Jayden... whenever there is a chavvy news story, like the poor baby savaged by his grandmother's dog the the poor kid seems to be called Jayden or similar.
